“I'm not ready to live without you” are part of the lyrics of a popular Indonesian song that has become a submarine crew’s final farewell before their vessel sank off the coast of Bali. Poignant footage showing the submarine crew singing the song Sampai Jumpa or “Till We Meet Again” on board their vessel before leaving for duty has been widely shared online. Officials confirmed that all 53 crew members of the KRI Nanggala 402 died following the tragedy on April 21, 2021. The video was filmed and released by the Indonesian navy in March, but has gone viral in the wake of the tragedy.

One thing hearing 53 died another thing actually seeing their faces. Brings a sense of reality to the number

Feels weird to listen to the songs of dead men, even though they are strangers. Thx for making them human and not just a statistic

The title is missleading. Made me think that they were singing DUE to them knowing they were doomed. The reality was that they sang days before their demise.

It doesn’t matter which country you’re from, we can all agree that this was a great tragedy. Rest In Peace to the men who lost their lives.

The song they sung is titled “sampai jumpa” which translates to “see you” or “until we meet again”, this song is usually played during graduation before students part ways. May these men rest in peace 🙏

My daughter is a U.S sailor. She sent this to me 😢❤. When a parent accepts that they child is a member of the military 🪖 anything is possible. Thank you to all who served.

Kudos to the Indonesian government for honoring them all with an increased rank, medals of honor, and scholarships for their children. That was impressive.

Imagine knowing you are going to die, and have hours to think about it. That's more brutal than the death itself.

Dying at the bottom of the ocean in a sunken submarine is so scary, because there is nothing you can do to save yourself. The water pressure is all around you.
  • Rest Peacefully Gentlemen. From one Navy vet to another, THANK YOU for your service. ⚓

As a forme US Navy submariner, this is the news you never want to hear about another submarine or its crew going down. No matter what country you are from, a submariner is always family. Rest in peace, fellow keepers of the deep.

Unlike the titan, these people knew that they were gonna die and sang a song for their farewell. Stop. I’m crying right now and i just figured this out now. Their song will be in my mind forever, bless their parents for teaching the, well
  • @BansheeN0rn
Thats nice that they accepted their fate without panic or fear. Brave men
  • @pickle4422
Now, they sang that as a farewell to their friends and families in the intention and knowledge that they’d see them again, but they didn’t. That is the definition of hard to watch.
