I love this song. One of my favourites. I had never seen him sing it. Thanks for posting Nicole. Regards from Brazil. Daiane.

On this day in 1944 {December 23rd} "Don't Fence Me In" by Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters peaked at #1 {for 8 weeks} on Billboard's Best Sellers Retail chart... After eight weeks at #1 it was replaced by "Rum and Coca-Cola" by the same Andrew Sisters {and it also remained at #1 for 8 weeks}... In 1944 Bing Crosby had three other songs that reached #1 {"I Love You" for 2 weeks, "I'll Be Seeing You" for 3 weeks, and "Swinging On A Star" for 9 weeks; so for the year of 1944 Mr. Crosby was at #1 for a total of 16 weeks}...

@nicoley133 Well...I liked the two versions. But Bing is always Bing. He sang like no one else and their songs always make me happy, in duets or not. Have a great weekend. Daiane.

@daianeyahoo Yeah, I like the song performed by just Bing or just the Andrews Sisters too (they sing it in the movie Hollywood Canteen). I like the song period. But the Bing/Andrews Sisters version is special. Their collaborations, to boil it right down, make the listener happy -- you hit the nail right on the head. :)

@daianeyahoo You're very welcome! :) So... Do we miss the Andrews Sisters or is Bing singing it solo just as good?
