Odd Things I Like About The First Generation IC CE School Buses

Published 2023-02-12
Everybody that knows me knows that the 1st gen. IC CEs are my favorite buses. Of course I love the obvious things about them such as the looks, how the engine sounds, etc. but I thought it’d be fun to talk about some of the odd things that I like about them. Many of these things are options that the district I bought it from spec’d it with. How fitting was it to release this during #LovetheBus month?

  • The t444epowerstroke are the legend of powerstrokes 7.3l and 6.0l are nice powerstroke
  • Nice video, fellow driver in GA. Bluebird Country. We have them all here, I prefer the ICs personally.

Wow, I can't believe some of these first gen buses are still in service. They really are great buses! I also like the un-synchronized wipers. I believe the AmTran's had them also. Of course IC was AmTran in a previous life.

  • Love all of these! The lean I think is really nice, just looking at it here and on our buses is just so beautiful.
  • Excellent video. I like how you highlighted all the little details of your bus.👍🏻
  • I love these first gens. I also like the second gens but my favorite second gens are the ones with the Maxxforce DT/dt466e. 6:49 that sound you’re talking about is tire noise and rear axle hum which many school buses across various brands seem to have that rear axle hum. Some louder some quiet or no noise no matter the year. It is my favorite sound from medium duty vehicles.
  • You have the totally awesome YouTube channel and awesome school bus on your channel keep up the good work my friend 👍 😀 😊
  • Since our state is very restrictive with the specs, there ain't much oddness about our first-gens. I've already shared my favorite bus, which is also the bus that got me into buses, but there isn't much oddness that I can tell about 107.
  • I am sure these have a ECT temps sensor and imbient temp sensor to let the motor know about the cold temps so it can rev high on its own to warm it back up.

One really odd thing I love about some of these 1st GENs is that the turn signals blink slower then others I love slow blinking turn signals for some odd reason

Older ICs and AmTrans are really nice, they're built like tanks and they last forever unlike buses today where there's just millions of parts sitting around: Cheaper is not always better
