I created my absolute dream childhood fantasy castle! It took 5 weeks of hard work, 3 people, too much foam and cardboard, too many bricks, and our sanity to complete this project - and it was all worth it. Hope you'll enjoy watching the process!

Martina is just going to build bigger and bigger castles and then sheโll end up building an actual castle brick by styrofoam brick ๐
-
I got an Idea, why not making the schmolest castle that you've ever made ? A tiny castle with absurd amount of details ? I think that's a good idea
-
I think the craziest part about this isn't how absolutely incredible the finished product looks: but how approachable Martina makes these builds feel. with other build channels you feel like you would need an entire workshop just to make an attempt at something similar. with this, Martina literally just glued boxes together, added shit like flour and paper towels, cut some foam, and painted. It feels like something anybody could do with $400 in art store supplies, access to someone's garbage can, and a vision. it wouldn't look nearly as good; but it doesn't feel like i would need an entire workshop to try it myself
-
11:00 When Martina was hand-carving all the bricks and then face-desked into it, I giggled. But when she was (understandably) ranting about how she refused to do it and was holding the piece of foam, YOU CAN SEE THE INDENTATION OF HER FOREHEAD IN THE FOAM. AND I LAUGHED SO HARD๐คฃ Maybe harder than what was warranted, but that was just so funny to me lol
-
It's nearly Christmas and Martina is waiting to open all the presents, so she can make castles out of all the packaging ๐๐
-
The longer it takes for Martina to release a new video, the higher the quality that the video is going to be. This might be my new favorite vid of NerdForge.

My dad does model trains, HO scale, which means his people are about the same size as the ones in this diorama. His layout that he's been working on for years (as in, decades) covers two large rooms. For his trees, he goes out in the winter when stuff is bare and finds little plants that look like miniature trees, and then paints them up or adds the static grass to make them look the part. They all look SO real! I grew up watching him work on this or that model or excitedly show off how he made this or that landscape, so the nostalgia hit me hard when you started using static grass lol. Good job!

What I really adore in these projects is Martina going nuts about it. I'm so happy to see you well , creative and full of life while creating these adorable masterpieces of ingenuity and beauty. Your strength gives us strength and lights our dull ordinary days. Its being a honor staying in this channel , I'm wishing you the very best for the year to come :) !

The linothorax of ancient Greece was literally layers of linen glued together to form a padded breastplate & backplate to protect their warriors. Modern-day tests have shown it to be remarkably effective at stopping or slowing slashes and even stabs from swords and axes. This means your castle outcrop is beautifully armored together!
-
These dioramas are reaching increasingly WTF levels of detail and scale. Not to mention Martina grows in mad wizard energy every time ๐

NerdForge is really roughing it these days; she has to make her own gravel now that she's successfully stolen all the gravel from her neighbors drive ways. I'll send her some cookies to show my care and support. ๐

Fabric and glue is actually used in theater set construction guide often. As a scenic builder here, I often use Muslin fabric and a paint called Gripper to make rocks and trees for stage productions. Great work Nerdforge!

Ive been watching for so long now and just realized you guys are almost at 3M!!! ๐ you guys deserve every bit of support your projects are INCREDIBLE!
-
It will never cease to amaze me how these videos start with some garbage and other random stuff found at home and ends with some of the most stunning works of art Iโve ever seen.
-
I, personally, would like to see you guys tackle castles like Winterfell, Casterly Rock, and/or Dragonstone as possible builds. The book versions not the show's, please. They were a little underwhelming. Other than that, this castle is fantastic and I love that you guys used everyday objects for the foundation of this castle and just build on it with some supplies within reach in the studio. Thank you guys so much for creating content like this! As always, I really did enjoy watching this :D!

Martina and Hansi we love you. After a long, long, 4 months of teaching 2-5 year olds in a forest, I am finally starting my Christmas break. I am treating myself to a Nerdforge video and a whiskey. You are both so fabulously talented, creative, and entertaining, and this creation is astounding. Gobsmakingly great! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. And thank you.

While I am constantly amazed at the finished product, I must say what makes it more incredible is watching the process. Your energy is the main factor, but seeing the tedious and careful attention to the minute details is inspirational. But, in the end, what appeals the most to me is your vision for the final product, which you seem to consistently have in mind before the project even starts! The final (and rightfully so) surprise is your awesome ability to make all the different elements used to complete the diorama come together with those unbelievable painting and staining skills and techniques. How you can start with simple cardboard and foam, and end up with what genuinely looks like stone and wood and dirt, complete with grasses, bushes, flowers - and even people and animals - makes me wish the videos were longer. I love watching the entire process, coupled with your unbounded energy. Thank you for the minutes you provide us to actually escape our mundane lives and live inside your imagination and inspiration. You inspire creationism and imagination with what you do, and that is rare and much-needed.

These castle builds are just practice runs for when Martina & Hans actually build her full-size, liveable dream castle utilizing all the foam, cardboard boxes, and pva glue in Norway ๐

Everything that you guys do, especially this past year, has been majorly inspirational and a joy to watch. I absolutely cherish escaping into your magical world. I hope someday you guys do an entire ((world)) with your imagination, creativity, and skill. You all are amazing, and ty for bringing out my own imagination thru all of your amazing videos. Love you all and Happy Yule ๐ Hugs!
