My husband and I sacrificed for 6 years to pay for 2 kids college. We were turned down for any type of help from the government! We had to take out a HELOC to help pay for expenses. We paid everything ourselves only to have to pay for all these other peoples kids college loans! This situation makes me furious!

Notice how O'Leary respectfully waits for the reporter to finish her question before speaking.

I'm against loan forgiveness with my tax dollars, because I had to pay all of my loans off, every red cent, and none of it was reimbursed. Unfair!

Plus, most of these loans are not just to paid school. They use money for their personal stupidity .
  • If it's unfair to forgive student loan debts, then individuals and businesses being allowed to declare bankruptcy is also unfair for much the same reason. Some individuals and businesses had to make all kinds of sacrifices just to make it, so it would be unfair for other individuals and businesses who didn't make it to declare bankruptcy. People outraged by student loan forgiveness, if they are going to be consistent, should also be outraged by the government allowing individuals and businesses to get a "freebee" by declaring bankruptcy. Anything less seems like selective outrage. The bank bailout was "unfair." Allowing debt forgiveness via bankruptcy is "unfair." I was told of a person who was $70,000 in debt from a spree of strip bars and alcohol and then had it all forgiven via declaring bankruptcy. How is that fair?
