Which of these is THE Biblical Diet?

Published 2024-04-27
Food and diet play a major role in the Hebrew Bible, beginning in the Garden of Eden. In this class, we discuss the biblical diets with a focus on the laws of Leviticus chapter eleven and Deuteronomy chapter fourteen. After covering some basic regulations and restrictions, the texts of Leviticus eleven and Deuteronomy fourteen are compared and contrasted in a horizontal study.

  • Wow!!! Just discovered you today. Excellent study. I've been trying to keep a clean diet for years now. I'm more than fairly certain it's slowed down my aging. It's fairly challenging knowing which food label ingredients are clean sometimes. Which supplements are clean, and etc. Either way I enjoyed this. Thanks.

Rabbi Singer mentioned people kept animals alive with tourniquets, and ate them limb by limb. Maybe this is about humanly ending an animal swiftly. Also maybe there is a connection to not eating strangulated animals in James. Tourniquet=strangulation?
  • Ross its been a whiile since i have visited your marvellous teaching channel. This was fascinating as ever. Bringing more honesty to scripture. Have you done a teaching on fasting? You made me laugh when you posited the idea of jumping into a lion pit t try and feed them some straw in the current age:) I am going to eat fig newtons!!

What about xylitol? Xylitol is meant to heal teeth. I put it in my oil pulling recipe. Does it have that response where it boost insulin just sitting on the tongue? Do essential oils like clove, cinnamon, or tea trea counter it if it does?
  • There is a theory known as the "two seed lines" or "seed of the serpent" interpretation of the Genesis account, which suggests that there are two distinct bloodlines or lineages that trace back to the descendants of Eve and the serpent (Satan). This interpretation is based on a literal reading of Genesis 3:15, which states that there will be enmity between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, and that the seed of the woman will crush the head of the serpent. Supporters of the two seed lines theory point to passages in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient texts that they believe support this interpretation. Some point to passages in the Book of Revelation, which refers to a war between the forces of good and evil, as evidence for the existence of two distinct bloodlines. Others point to passages in the Book of Genesis that describe conflicts and struggles between the descendants of Adam and Eve and the descendants of Cain, as further evidence of this theory. However, it is important to note that the two seed lines interpretation is not widely accepted within mainstream biblical scholarship. Critics argue that the concept of two distinct bloodlines is not explicitly stated in the Hebrew Bible and that the idea of a literal seed of the serpent is based on a misinterpretation of symbolic language in the text. Ultimately, the interpretation of Genesis 3:15 and the concept of two seed lines is a matter of theological debate and interpretation, rather than historical fact.

But if figs are so good for us , why would Yeh Ho VaH tell them not to eat from it ? Has a fig ever opened one's eyes and made anyone like a god ? Sorry but I believe in the Serpent Seed doctrine , it makes much more sense , to me at least . This was still a good study , I don't have to agree with you on every point in order to say that
