"End of Conversation." "Fine, end of relationship." I quoted that line nonstop after I first saw it, and most people caught the reference.

I really miss Amanda Bynes, she was such a talented actress who burned out far too early. I hope that she's happy out of the spotlight now. She's stated that this movie triggered her depression, because she didn't like how she looked as a boy. By the way, I hope that you eventually review "Easy A!"

How is that headmaster not in prison for having two minors expose their privates to him and the entire school to 'prove their gender?'

"Heels were invented by men in order to make a women's butts look smaller." Actually, heels were originally invented FOR MEN, then women began wearing them in order to prevent their dresses from dragging on the ground, and then proceeded to wear them after men stopped. See how interesting history can be without social commentary warping facts.

I don’t get how Viola got away with not going to school herself though

I've never understood the trope (i guess?) of women in movies not wearing bras just so they can "conveniently" flash their breasts at another character. Especially in this instance- like, she didn't wear a bra to a soccer game???

"the quickest way to a girl's heart is cheese and/or miniature versions of literally anything that she can put in her hand and say 'look how small it is!'" I feel personally attacked 😭
  • I was obsessed with this movie when I was younger, especially with Channing Tatum lol, but the one thing that really irked me was Viola playing soccer with her hair down and in her face at the end. Out of everything that seemed the most unrealistic 😂

"Built like Junior from VeggieTales" had me in stitches 🤣

This is basically Mulan, but in college

I think this movie has aged appropriately. It played with the line back then and even though that doesn't look like much now, it is still pretty good for what it did

As a geek dad, my sons are super into sports - and it's okay! I watch their games and support them. They don't have to like what I like.
  • @StomeAura
If I’m correct, I think Amanda said she felt weirded out by being addressed or thought of as a guy, so this movie literally gave Amanda Bynes reverse gender dysphoria.
  • @laurieb348
I love how the whole plot revolves around the fact that she’s "good at soccer for a girl but come on, not as good as a boy!!”
  • @dantederi5062
I don't know what it is, but I just love 2000s era of movies. It might be the nostalgia, and it's not like the 2000s era movie are the best or whatever, there's this certain "weirdness" that I just can't get enough of.
  • @fl4naa
I watched this movie for the first time last summer and I loved it, I weirdly don’t think it’s aged poorly, I just think of it as something campy
  • @AdamIshak01
“Hey whoa! Trust me, the quickest way to a girl’s heart is cheese and anything miniature enough that fits into her hand that makes her say ‘wow! Look how smoll it is!’” This is highly accurate.
  • @94frankiec
It’s hard to hear that a film I genuinely loved as a kid and still love watching and quote all the time caused a lot of issues and pain for Amanda Bynes. I always see it as some of her best comedic work because the way she plays this role is just so good. Can only hope through the bad memories she might have that she knows this film is still loved by a lot of her fans

15:35 actually, heels were originally invented for men. King Louis XIV made them popular by wearing them (literal short king), then a few years down the line they bled over into women's fashion. Even after that, heels were popular in both men's and women's fashion for, like, a century before becoming exclusively designed for women.

“I’m a badass hunkay dude”. And “I like Gouda”…. Hilarious I loved this movie. I miss Amanda so much. She was such a talented actress.
