Together, in the winter of 1968-69, they demanded programs and resources to increase diversity and raise the conversation about social justice at CSUN. Their tireless efforts led to the development of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), which provides access, retention and support services for historically low-income, underserved and first generation college students and the birth of nationally recognized Ethnic Studies departments.
Thanks to the tenacity of those who made great sacrifices for future generations, CSUN has become one of the most diverse institutions of higher learning in the nation.
This short film is a documentary of that turbulent time.
