Can’t believe the turnaround time you did on this!! Super woman!!
  • Loved watching the entire process Emily! Quick tip, hold Shift and select a layer on the Cuts / Layers tab and it will select everything on that layer.
  • I like the plastic razor blade hack, need to get me sum of those. 🎉 Cool project

I rarely comment on YT, but this was awesome! Loved how you were so real with being unsure of how to accomplish this, and how you resolved the problems you had. Would love to see more of these! What a great job you did with this very large piece!

Great job. You can still use Print & Cut if you're creative. For instance, add masking tape to a blank area and write on it with a fine-tip marker, then cue off it for both top and bottom sections. Or you can Print & Cut off of an existing feature, like the intersection on an X or the center of the dot on an i.

Great result in the end! There are tons of ways of doing this, I always start with a coat of plastic primer, although your clear coat did the trick. You can get acrylic supplied with a paper backer, which is way better to work with than masking tape. POSCA paint markers have an excellent range of colours. BTW I am a little bit jealous of your selection of lasers, I have a large 100w Chinese CO2, but those Aeons are lovely! A fibre is definitely in my future! Great work!
  • Great vid and a lot of work 😂when filling I use an airbrush with createx wicked paints , super quick to apply and dry very quickly and you can do multiple coats for depth and real easy to clean up xx
  • I use chalk paint, BUT you are going to have to seal it some how if it ever gets near water. This is fine for just decoration that hangs up. It can wipe off. I use chalk paint and a squeegie.
  • What a beautiful job you did. I’d be a nervous wreck. Btw: I hate weeding (anything, lol) so the chalk pen is definitely something I’m trying!

This could definitely be done with print and cut. In order to use print and cut you don't have to engrave any registration points at all into the product. You could put targets on a non printing layer in Lightburn on any identifiable locations of the actual engraving. Examples would be the lower left of the W and the lower right of the T in "We saved you a seat". Then when you do the second part you just line up your red dot with the lower left of the W, and align that with the non printing reg mark, same for the T, then do the second part. For the third part you would pick parts of letters near the bottom of the text of part 2 that come to points and are easy to precisely pinpoint with the laser.

  • @3dmania11
so after using the chalk pen to infill do you have to seal the chalk pen? if so with what?
