Before I even started watching: "hey hey mama said the way you move, gonna make you sweat, gonna make you groove".
  • @DamoCcfc
"AHH!!" - Them Bones, Alice in Chains
  • @Marcelo_Parada
Kansas - carry on my wayward son was the first song that came to my mind when I started watching. Great to see that's on the Top3
  • @mikewood8561
Outfield: Your Love?? It starts with him singing, Josie's on a vacation far away, then they harmonize. Its the first song i thought of.
  • I missed James Brown with the iconic and irresistible "I feel good".
  • @billy9361
Sound of silence Simon and garfunkel "Hello darkness my old friend'
  • I think Peter Gabriel's a cappella introduction to Genesis' "Dancing with the Moonlit Knight" is one of the greatest vocal introductions of all time.
  • @maxtrix7
I’m surprised that Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You did not make the cut. Not the most complex but what a tone and performance

    “AAHHHHAAAAHHHHAAAAAAHHHHAAAAAAAAAA” -Robert Plant, 1970

"Hey hey mama say the way you move, gonna make you sweat gonna make you groove"

Whenever I call you friend - Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks. Harmonizing intro is angelic.

Two great vocal intros that are somewhat obscured by the iconic guitar riffs that follow are the "I want my MTV" intro of Sting before Dire Straits' "Money for Nothing" and the vocal part of Thunderstruck by AC/DC, which was usually sung by the crowd when performed live.

Roberta Flack singing Killing Me Softly literally gave me goosebumps
  • @eddiemappala
"Pilot of the Airwaves" by Charlie Dore from 1979. It's even used by as intro DJ's jingle in a radio station here back in the 80's. Great list, Mr Beato.

Queen has soo many: Somebody to Love, I Want it All, Dont Stop Me Now
  • @lunalouhoo
Oh the lady who sang "A'int no Sunshine" was just divine!
  • @mr.e8432
Oh, Mama, I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law Law man has put an end to my running and I'm so far from my home Oh, Mama I can hear you a-cryin', you're so scared and all alone Hangman is comin' down from the gallows and I don't have very long... How does that not make the top five, let alone even make an appearance on the list?

Little River Band is so awesome! Their harmonies give me chills.
  • Wayward Son intro is simply iconic for vocal intros. It's just the first thing that comes to mind for a lot of us old people on the subject. I think its partly because it contrasts with killer guitar riff intro that follows and then the rest of the song is jammed with instrumental tracks. And Steve Walsh vocals in 1976 were incredible (with a nod to violinist Robby Steinhardt's harmony who has passed on). Numero uno. And if I'm not mistaken, that vocal intro was added at the last minute as they rushed to record it.
