Time to stir the crap pot!
Well liftmaster another leaking gearbox. Isn't that a surprise. So many upset door companies warranting these gearboxes, encoders and motors...but mostly gearboxes. Can't u get a better built gearbox...these are from Taiwan and leak again....some in 2, 3 ,5 and more months. It's a crapshoot and a 5 year original warranty from date of install. These work perfectly on a slider ( as we all here in Vancouver , Canada will agree. You see everyone knows each other here and talk! So we are aware of what's going on.
Oh and why is liftmaster forcing everyone to adopt ul325 anyways ? Any technician or electrician will all agree ( well most) a normally closed circuit monitors itself and it don't need a special square sine wave to make it work. Oh and guess what in a pinch you can make it work...so what happens I'd you've used your last pair of ul325 monitored beams ? Yep either the gate stays open ( no security) or ya close the gate and disable the operator to attain a secure building. Normally closed circuits are used in fire alarms, burglar alarms, shut down circuits etc....but no Liftmaster has to lobby to promote UL325 as the standard...what a joke.
While we are on the subject how about giving us speed control seeing as your using a DC motor? Why just give a couple dip switches for options? Oh and why of all the colors do u paint your stuff black? We work in poorly lit locations all day long and of all the dumb colors to paint things u use black!
But hey what do a bunch of dumb Canadians know Eh!
I've commented many times when speaking to a liftmaster tecnical helper...why can't u change the pot of paint to another color than black when it runs out?
Canada's market isn't important to these guys as every operator nearly in the USA is a liftmaster. Too bad they were sued by Genie and lost millions for copying their proprietary software.
Now it's super hard to get LM products here in Vancouver of the great Canada anyway.....EH !

In all seriousness Liftmaster just thinks everything is fine so why make improvements.
Oh 1 more thing how many HCT operators have anyone at the plant ( especially in engineering) installed ? These machines are a total nitemare to install even with a helper. They are heavy and awkward and unbalanced ! But hey again what do any Canadians know about anything ....right EH!

Sorry for the rant.
When they work they are dependable!
