We have had a lot of requests for a tour and a cost break down of our Tiny Shed House we built ourselves; so here it is!
Located in beautiful Northern Queensland we have built our 48sqm Shed house with a loft. We love it!
Our little place is Off the Grid in terms of Power, water, Sewage and waste (we have no services).
There is of course much to do in terms of gardens and outside work. We'll record that and post here as we go.
We have all the build videos in our series Going Off Grid so be sure to check those out as they go into far more detail on our trials and tribulations of the journey so far.

Thanks for watching
Regards
Scott and Judy

It looks like you have both made yourself a comfortable, modern manageable home for not a lot of money. You will take a huge amount of satisfaction looking around and seeing all of your hard work paying off by what you have created. Well Done.

    1. Thank you for welcoming us "on the other side of the camera" into your home, that's very humbling. 2. Wow, just awesome Scott and Judy. I jumped on the channel when the shed went up and the solar was installed, and stayed for the Journey, thank you, you two. :)

Looks fantastic Scott, you two have do a wonderful job, you both must feel so accomplished and should be very proud. A lovely home for a beautiful couple. Live long and happy.
  • I built a 9x6 m shed about 4 years ago, total cost $20,000 today it would probably be $40-59k. I’m amazed with all the work you have both completed. Excellent.

Thank you for you straightforward and honest presentation. Really helpful. You have a lovely place.
  • It’s been a great pleasure watching the Turners make their off grid home a reality. I can imagine the upstairs loft being a relaxing place to slumber when it rains. The sounds of rain on a metal roof is a great thing that I hope everyone can experience at some point in their lives. Thanks again and god bless you and your family!
  • Hey Judy and Scott. Thanks so much for making these videos of your shed and shed-house build. You have inspired me. As I am soon heading into retirement I intend to use your own insights to create my own off-grid home in Tassie.... Such humble, wonderful people. Cheers. 👍
  • Shouse come out awesome you both deserve praise for all the hard work and effort u put In

Outstanding! Thanks so much for including us on this journey. $90k is peanuts compared to the satisfaction and well being you two experience as a result of all your hard work. I know you have inspired many folks to get out there and get their hands dirty building their own sense of heaven. Your videos are always entertaining full of "can do" attitude. Again, thanks so much for the patience and pain of sharing with your audience! Well done.

  • @barthanes1
Congratulations on getting close enough to calling it done. It looks perfect, and I wish I had one. (I'm single living in a 3 bedroom 2 bath house.) It was great that you took the time to film everything. Thanks for taking us along, and I can't wait to see what you dream up next.
  • @rickkearn7100
I am awestruck by all you've both accomplished there. Am loving being invited to see your journey, it's top-shelf. Looking forward to all future episodes as well. If I had one tenth the ambition you folks possess I'd be a happy man! Godspeed and, cheers.
  • Absolutely awesome. Great job Thankyou so much for sharing. Very inspiring.

Glamgrid living, I've watched your journey from the beginning, the highs the lows the laughs and the tears, congratulations, 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
  • Amazing what can be achieved if you have a go. In todays consumer society, your home stands out as an example of knowing what you want, but also what you need, including the coffee machine. The balustrade looks fantastic, a testament to your maker talent, I’m really looking forward to the next project, Both of you should be so proud of your achievement. Thank you for taking the time to film and allow us to join the journey.

This is a great example of how home ownership is indeed still possible for a young couple just starting out. $90,000 + land costs ? One can easily afford that mortgage just working minimum wage at the local gas station. This place is simple and comfortable and looks to be very well built for the long term, minimal maintenance will be required over the next decades.
