What part of FROZEN IN TIME do they not understand!?
  • @LynarMatal
Honestly mood, sometimes I start to say something and realize I should quiet down to let them have their day
  • @melrey2645
No your character wouldn't hear this since, as previously stated they are FROZEN in time!

Even if time wasn's stopped, the least he could have done was wait for the scene to drag on for a bit longer. Giving everyone a moment to breathe and process is part of the D&D magic. Roleplaying is more than just everyone saying something.

Dude, I LOVE letting people have their moment. My last session, I'm literally the group assassin, and I did nothing but provide long-range low damage support for our new player knight who finally got the hang of his superiority dice. His final roll after decimating the oncoming army was a Nat 20 Max damage. If you can't put your own weapons aside and enjoy something that beautiful then you have no soul!

You know the dm made time stop because he knew that player would interrupt and this was his attempt to combat that. Problem is, there’s no stopping main character syndrome.

Hold on but I want to hear more about that character! Why is he seeing his wife? What more does she have to say? Is his son okay?!
  • I feel this, had too many moments ruined with their main character energy.

The DOOM music captures the rage of the player precisely. Do not make everything about you!!!

"Does my character hear this?" "Not until you feel like dying..."
  • @KK25Gaming
My video buffered when he said stop. I stared at my screen for 3s thinking it was part of the bit.
  • @kronos200
I didnt realise our rouge here was a master of Chronomancy
  • @YayoiKuran
"Dungeon Master. If I'm smiling, you should be afraid." Loving all these DnD-themed shirts and hoodies lately! ✨️ (And I immediately had to think of your smile in the mimic house vid 🙈)

Unrealistic, instead of going "my character would definitely say something" he would just say the thing and automatically assume he hears this (and has the ability to speak despite being frozen)

That reminds me of something My character was a member of a tribe of druids and apothecaries. They had their own language that only they and their neighbouring tribes spoke. Needless to say, I also spoke this language, and due to the nuances of it, one could only learn this language if they grew up in one of the tribes. We encounter a hunting party from one of the tribes, and as with most members, they don't speak common. I go forward to do the diplomacy, and THIS BITCH OF A BARD USES AN ABILITY THAT ALLOWS HIM TO COMMUNICATE WITH THEM AND TRIES TO TAKE OVER THE DIPLOMACY! his logic was 'im more charismatic than you' which if I had low charisma I might be ok with, but as it stood, I had a 16 in charisma, and these are people who distrust the party and distrust me considerably less. Sometimes the bard does dumb shit. I'm normally ok with it (out of character at least) But he crossed a line that day.

I just had to kick someone out of my CoS game who would do exactly this. Their characters would constantly interject into every situation, often ruining whatever relationship the other players were trying to build with the townsfolk (or other things). When I tried talking to them about my concerns (cause I'm still new to DMing, this is my first campaign and I didn't want to jump the gun and kick them out right away), all I got back from them was deflection, gaslighting, and threatening our friendship to get me to shut up. I'm sorry to vent here, I've just been super messed up about it this week. I love your content, and it's given me a lot of ideas about stuff to use. I especially love the mimic house! I even found out about the false hydra from you. Super cool!

Nothing feels more satisfying in a campaign than being a part of your party member's character progression
  • @UlshaRS
It was a truly metaphysical moment. Then other player went meta so he had to get physical
  • @dracul1986
My players also create such situations where I as the DM can just sit back and listen for 30 minutes.
