  • Bog bodies have also been found in Newfoundland. As a teen-ager, I saw two at the former museum in St. John's, Newfoundland. They have been put away out of sight.

  • Why did it "stun" scientists to find out that the original roman city lined up with the current city's layout.?
  • I think the people of Pompeii did know that an eruption could happen at any moment considering there were minor earthquakes around it for 15 years before it erupted, they just believed it couldnt happen to them, like people today.

  • Fido is an old Roman name meaning "faithful companion" derived from the word " fidelis". Still used in the Marine motto "Semper Fidelis" That's why the bulldog , is their mascot.
