Amazing how much more sophisticated this gun ship has become since the Viet Nam days.

In the mid-90’s I was stationed with the 160th at Campbell. We did a fire power display that encompassed most every unit on Campbell and there were Air Force assets on static display on the tarmac. Including the most recent versions of the AC-130 and B-52. As well as a C5, C17 and tankers. The Gunship was very impressive! 🫡

I got to see an AC-130 in person at the Charleston Air Show last weekend. The 105 millimeter gun is crazy impressive. I could easily fit my whole entire arm in the barrel.

i have seen this footage reused by so many you tubers as there is only so much footage of these retired airframes but even though I've seen it countless times i still watch till the end lol

Does someone knows why was never built an AC-5 version of the C-5 galaxy or an AC-17 version of the C-17 Globmaster-3?

If that's the case then why are we still using them??? How about the story of a A-10 that lost one wing while on a mission and returned to the base and safely landed!!! Let me ask you a question-How many other fighter planes that go out on a warfare mission in these modern times have lost one wing and returned to base and landed safely??? It's about more than the pilot it's about the A-10 BABY!!! DO YOU LIKE ME NOW???
