Anyone who has any of the ligers and the legs keep falling off you can actually replace the polycaps in the shoulders and hips with .25 inch vinyl tubing. It’s the .25 inch outside diameter .17 inch inside diameter tubing you can commonly find at any hardware store. Cut it to size and then cut it once length wise because it won’t fit over the peg since the inside diameter of the tubing is .6 mm is too small but the thickness is perfect. it’s not as snug as a fresh poly cap but it is sung enough the legs won’t fall out. And it’s cheap so instead of using clear nail polish on the pegs use clear nail polish on the outside of the tubing to make it more snug since it will cause the tubing to compress more.

I have a feeling that the engineers designed the HMM Blade Liger's structure that way because it was the best they could do with the plastic engineering technology available in 2007. It seems like they constructed each functional piece of the Liger in halves and then combined them together to create a single piece with features on both sides. (I remember some runners having details and panel lines on one side and just plain pegs and empty spaces in the other.) Granted, Bandai didn't seem to have the same problems back in 2007 (both the MG Strike Noir and the MG Destiny Gundam were released in the same year as the original HMM Blade Liger), but I think Bandai just has that much more financial headroom to do extensive research into optimizing their manufacturing processes.
  • wow i actually prefer the coloring of this generic Blade Liger AB compared to the Van version i still have my Hasbro Red Blade Liger from the early 2000s shame the Koto kits prices start to inflate alot after a year from the reprint currently can get a Gojulas Ogre for under $200 USD (amazon JP deal) but one of these is about $180, for context i just bought a saber tiger marking for $73 a week ago so thats a big jump glad to hear theres been a bunch of improvements to the kit though ill keep it in mind for the next time they do a reprint absolutely gonna pick up a Geno Saurer reprint thats coming out this month though
