I love it!! Hubs and I working on a diy 9x9 ground level deck just for looks. Not much use. So that said, it’ll be by all means a diy finish and that’s just fine enough for me. Not special ordering anything so working with what’s available at the blue and orange box stores. Which are sneaky at not selling everything you need. Starting boards in a 8 feet but matching groove planks in 12 feet. But we making it work and might put in a center board to buy 8 footer instead of 12 (inside the pic frame)or can put 2 boards to pic frame it. Also using the groove boards as starting boards since our deck is ground level with 2 sides covered by walls , one side continues on to out entrance floor (concrete) and the one visible, I’ll cover with rock or something. I do know my deck will outlast my frame (treated wood with ground contact) and I’m fine with that, as I love to change things anyway. But I do love your professional work. Looks so good!

Beautiful deck amazing work. We really appreciate your input on addressing the details. I believe the post notch at 9:58 needs a bit of clearance to allow for contraction. That small piece will brake. Call back!

Thank you for all your posts. I was stumped trying to replace my wood porch decking with composite, until I watched your videos. I was doing picture frame joints, but will now I want to use your technique for gluing trim pieces to the end of the boards. You said a fewer sent you a drawing for a rig to safely cut the trim pieces. Will you share that with me? Gary

Thanks Dr! I have a question, when you use the track saw to trim the boards for your border or inlays, do you set it with a slight angle or is it at 90?
