My neighbor worked for Hurst-Campbell, as one of their first sales reps. He used to bring home some pretty impressive Hurst-modified vehicles. One weekend, he brought home the very same Chrysler 300 that Hurst glamourous mascot Linda Vaughn was displayed on during exhibitions and big events. She stood on a rubberized platform on the trunk area of the 300, holding onto a HUGE Hurst Competition Plus shifter with a "Line-Loc" and getting a lot of "oohs and ahhs" in her day. Anyway, there it sat for the entire weekend, right on the street in front of my suburban home in Levittown, PA. Unfortunately, the girl and the shifter were not on the car. But I saw the 300H up close and personal. Later, my father and I were gifted a day at a Hurst exhibition event in Warminster, PA (Hurst factory location) I sat inside several Hurst cars, including the second incantation of the famous wheelstanqer, the Hurst "Hemi Under Glass" 67 Cuda, the "Goldenrod," a four-engine powered LSR car, and some of the newer Hurst mod offerings. I was a lucky kid to have such a great neighbor who was so very generous. "Rock on, Mr. Scott!"

Ouch, that engines reputation for blowing head gaskets is a major red flag.
  • I had no idea the build quality was so shoddy on some of these Mopar muscle cars.

I had a 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 383 convertible which I purchased new. It was blue with a white interior and top. Would love to see her if you could find hot!
  • I was a MOPAR Plymouth man, and I wouldn't kick any of those cars. out of my driveway the Cricket put it off to the side. Duster, I owned three of them 318 one 340 loved them. the 318 were 230 hp the 270 hp both were great base hp the add to, Plymouth Fury I'll take two.

The Cricket was sold down under as a Hillman Avenger. We called them Scavengers.
  • @billyfoster3223
The Fury looks great and so does the 70-74 Barracuda!😁🛠️

The New Yorker was not a muscle car, it was a land yacht

I envy anyone lucky enough to experience a high-speed run in an iconic Pontiac Trans Am.
  • Avoid these beauties? Nice try, but I love them anyway, and I wouldn’t mind having any of them.
  • @anthony3968
    9. Hell I'd own/drive any of these (cricket?) especially the 63 ❤.
  • @MirabelDavies
The maintenance costs and lack of parts availability make that one a hard pass.
  • @anthony3968
In it's day the lil red express and black knight were the fastest production American cars
  • @coarsegrind
Because chyrsler didn’t offer different combinations of engine configuration to achieve levels of horsepower ratings like Chevy and Ford did made the company unappealing. If they had options of different heads and camshaft packages they could have risen up from number 3. If they had made a limited run of the ball stud hemi the brand would have exploded.
  • @CalliopeKevind
Yikes, that one seems plagued with electrical problems. No thanks!
  • @RoyRagsdillw
Im surprised by how many overheating problems were mentioned for that model.
