Using a paperclip as an antenna, I put this DIY method to the test! Try it yourself and see how many channels you can pick up for free! As suggested in the comments, why not try stringing a few paperclips together to see if you can make a makeshift antenna.

  • Tried this hack for my daughter bedroom TV, it scanned 23 channels, some HD ones. Only 5 or 6 we're absolutely clear, one was a major tv station in our area. I will say that her tv is also a LG tv, will try on a non LG tv and will update on my findings. Thank you so much already saved $30 because of your video. 👍🤗
  • I tried this trick, and got 1 local channel, high-quality and no glitches. Also it doesn’t electrocute you.

I live about 20 miles from the closest tower and i got 50 channels. Just from doing the L Paperclip antenna. Pretty darn neat!
  • It does work! I can get 40 channels with just a paperclip (I live about 6 miles from the broadcast towers). A few of them are sketchy, they're clear sometimes but bad signal other times, including NBC. BUT I can get 66 clear channels with my $30 "HD Antenna" I bought from Amazon. So a paperclip isn't the best...but it works. Just to be on the safe side I unplugged the TV before inserting and removing the paperclip from the cable port. Edit: I just attached a wire hanger from my closet to the paperclip and I'm getting 20 more channels, so almost as many as the $30 antenna, lol. But some of the channels are still a little clearer with the $30 antenna.
