I saw JLT perform a couple of years ago. I live in a small northern European city, not far from the arctic circle and I could not believe seeing one of my childhood heroes standing on the stage!

King of Dreams one of my all time Purple favourites
-
Terrific voice saw him with Rainbow not one bad note all night.

Much respect to JLT. 'Slaves and Masters' doesn't get the appreciation it should, in my opinion. He may not be to everyone's taste but he always delivered.

Joe Lynn Turner is not only a great singer but also a great guitarist, I'd love see him out front singing and playing guitar....I used to see him with his band Ezra back in the early 70s and he could pull off all Ritchie Blackmore's guitar parts....Check him out playing guitar with "Fandango" live at the Capital theater I think 1978.

Slaves and Masters has and will stand the test of time ! This was great work by a very talented group of musicians.....

Fantastic vokalist. Love his voice and the Rainbow stuff. Streets of dreams.

A great singer. Highly skilled. Nice person. One of my vocal influences. In short. A Class Act.

I have Slaves and Masters on CD and I think it’s a good Deep Purple album. I get what a lot of people think it’s like Rainbow. JLT has a good voice and can write good songs. He sang on Yngwie Malmsteen’s Odyssey album and that was Yngwie’s best selling album and he was headlining.

I absolutely LOVE the Slaves and Masters album! JLT did a great job with his time in DP.

Slave and masters and his rainbow stuff excellent in my opinion

JLT is a beautiful guy. I got to play a few charity shows with him. Amazing singer and he's a Goombah. NJ guy.

Just love how so many great vocalists refer to Paul Rodgers - Free , Bad Company , The Firm , The Law , Solo Artist , Queen....etc

I met JLT one time back around 1995. It was during the NAMM show one night at the Hilton bar. We were all drunk and Yngwie was at the other end of the bar. I recall that we were heckling him and pissing him off and JLT thought it was hilarious.

I bought Slaves and Masters when it came out (on CD), took it home w/o looking at the cover, put it on and thought "Oh, boy, Gillan quit again!". I do miss Ian's ability to hit the high ones (we're all older!) and did then with Turner, but this album isn't too bad at all. I pull it out and listen to it sometimes and having watched this interview, I think it's time to again!

I'm really GLAD Joe talks about the POSITIVE things that were yielded by SLAVES AND MASTERS because even if there was politics going on in the band about the singers (With Ian leaving) the MUSIC was very POLISHED, Very TIGHT & VERY GOOD.

Stone Cold. So GOOD !

One of my all times favorite Deep Purple albums

Great job, Joe!

I got to see that line-up twice on that tour and in very many ways it was the best thay ever were. Joe could sing EVERYTHING and Ritchie was happy and played like the god we all remembered. Glover and Paicys' galactic level rhythym section. And of course the late great Jon Lord. It is sweet coincidence that I was just saying all of this a few days ago and then to come across this vid iswonderous synchronicity!
