It's alright to blunder for king and queen but when you start doing yourself it's against the law
-
Honestly Captain Kidd just seems like a guy who desperately wanted to climb the social ladder, but his failure as a privateer and the pressure from his crew made him an unwilling pirate
-
I need more documentaries about pirates like this. Pirates are so fascinating.
-
Kidd, Avery, Teach, Jack, Bonnie, Reid, Roberts. The Greatest of Pirates. They may have done some awful things, but something about their rebellion is inspiring, and for better or worse their legacy is immortal.

If you like this type of stuff. The show from a few years ago called Black Sails is THE best pirate show ever. And one of the best shows in general. It has everything I would ever ask for in a pirate show. It's a legit 9/10 show. If you're into the age of sails, piracy and British naval expansionism type stuff with the Americas/Caribbean of this time period it's a must watch. I already watched the series a second time since it ended. It's only 4 seasons but it was ended perfectly.

The crew who was too drunk to fight back in order to avoid capture....that next morning hangover must have SUCKED....lol
-
If you don't cut government in on the loot then you are an outlaw.Funny how that works 🤔
-
The most important takeaway from this is that there is still definitely buried pirate treasure out there! Let's go!
-
I must've read Stevenson's "Treasure Island" at least 20 times stretching from an enamored 9 year old to a salty 70 year old. My favorite TI movie is the one with Christian Bale that treated the story seriously.

I have always enjoyed reading about pirates, this was very well done !
-
I'm from Pittsburgh and I'd say the golden age of the Pirates was from 1960 to 1979.
-
The true golden age of piracy came around a century before the events described in this documentary, when pirates such as Sir Henry Morgan sacked cities rather than merely taking unarmed merchant ships.
-
We have lost so much of history. Its even worse that someone painstakingly compiled whole books and they are either destroyed lost deliberately burnt and gone forever out of memory
-
I’m really happy that you guys did something about Pirates
-
The young lady singing at the 42min mark is INCREDIBLE!
-
idk what it is about the banger at 41:30 but I have listened to it dozens of times

I love stuff involving ships and the ocean. Love learning about shipwrecks, exploration voyages, etc. Like a lot of events that happened in history, pirates have been romanticized over time and as a result, what we've perceived as how these people lived is not all true.

"10% for the Big Guy" has been around a long time.
-
How disappointing, Captain Kidd being one of only 4 pirates I could name, had a very short and minor career compared to other pirates
-
I had just been wanting to watch a documentary about pirates! What luck, well done.
