Regarding Nilay’s comments about shared reality at 32:43, so many of the OS updates were about Apple mediating shared reality, from CarPlay SharePlay to tvOS FaceTime to iOS Notes collaboration.
  • The company is called XVR, it was purchased by Apple sometime ago. They’ve been shooting originally in 1080p 3 dimensional for some time. They have upgraded their equipment in preparation for this product. They’ve been working on live concerts such as Taylor Swift while she’s on tour currently in 2023.

I think the Market for this is bigger than people think. A lot of people pay $2500 for a MacBook I don’t see why they won’t spend $3500+ for “A MacBook you strap to your face”

The op collab. Couldn’t wait for video so already listened to this one but now back for the video lol

I think the ability to put multiple screen in 3D space while actually having them legible could be a cost savings for a lot of businesses.

Apple does not want you to think about Vision Pro specs, they want you to think about what you can do with it. That is why they did not give certain technical specs.
  • @alifpr
Such a great collab, keep up the good work guys!

At the very least, this appears to be a portable 4-5K display for your laptop. That alone may make this thing worth it for a lot of people. Add in media consumption, 3D recording/playback capabilities, and the ability to run apps without an accompanying computer and you have a lot of things which can sell this device. Apple is building an interesting computer model: a Mac is an Apple Computer with a WIMP interface, an Apple TV is a Apple Computer with a TV remote interface, an iPhone/iPad is an Apple Computer with a touch interface, and this is an Apple Computer with a spacial interface.

I don’t understand the obsession with it not being isolating. We often isolate when we meditate, when we read, when we watch content, when we study or want to focus on something so we may dive as deep as possible into learning a subject. Isolation may be necessary for true transformation, to break free of habits and patterns that no longer serve us, similar to being positively influenced by a great movie or book that you give your full attention to. In fact it has been shown that VR experiences may be one of the best and most powerful ways of entering a flow state which is great for our health and creativity.

It got good when the waveform crew arrived to save the podcast lol
  • If/when the 3-D videos can be SHARED, THEN you can grasp the huge upside potential of this one feature. This is only the beginning. I cannot WAIT to see what developers come up with!
  • @Swkos1993
My opinion: Is Vision Pro going to replace the iPhone and the Computer? The answer is no! But the Vision Pro 10 definitely!
