Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro review

When Daniel defense sent me their Delta 5 Pro Chambered in 6.5 creedmoor, I really didn’t know what to do with it.

I was never really a bolt action rifle kind of guy.
Yeah, I own a few bolt action rifles but I never really shot them that much so I decided to dive into the ocean and take a precision rifle course of sorts with the Daniel Defense Delta 5 Pro.

So I drove out to college station to meet the guys at DI Precision to get me squared away.

  • What I love is people so willing to share their passion with you and how happy they were for you when you nailed the skill test. That is what it's all about.
  • After Buffalo, now is a perfect time to stress to more civilians on why they should exercise their right to carry.

Hey (8 yr old girl-competition shooter here) - Just wanted to say that this is pretty cool! I first started on a Precision Rifle at 6 years old and loved it! What a great way to get into shooting too!
  • “When I pick it up it feels like an extension of me.” That is the best feeling in the world. I have a Howa 1500 build that I went to a class with and about halfway through the class it all just seemed to click. Now that is my favorite gun. It feels like it is just a “if I can see it, I can hit it” kind of thing. It is an amazing feeling.

Approaching mastery with a firearm, or any other tool for that matter, is a unique and very gratifying experience.
  • That scene where the bullets' shock wave skimmed the water was dope.
  • @omere.2494
One of the best channels out there. Keep it up!
  • “love is knowing your target, putting them in your sights, and together achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds” when I saw the thumbnail I immediately thought of that quote.

I got my Delta 5 Pro a few months ago. I felt the frustration Colion was talking about while zeroing. Then, just the other week, I hit a steel target at 1000 yards! What a beautiful gun this is!
  • It seems like a precision rifle would be a welcomed addition to anybody who shoots on a regular basis. What a great skill set to aquire!
  • @FIREBRAND38
That's where greatness starts; admitting out loud that you don't know something. Bravo!
  • Long range shooting is flat out addictive and fun to boot!!!!! There is something about dinging steel at extreme distances - it's a natural high and I love it. Glad to see you enjoyed your experience and look forward to more long range videos in the future.
  • Despite the "news" and "politics"..... Guys like this ARE the true gun community! It's fun, helping others out, competitive and ya can meet a LOT of people from different walks of life and maybe learn to love another guys gun or a different form of shooting. Plus, it's a handy skillset when you encounter the people that should NOT own guns! Another great video and I loved "You leave training fucking hating the gun or loving it. No middle ground". I took my 2 new AR builds out yesterday with some friends, and, as usual, I'm changing parts today.
  • After I took my long range course back in October, I got to experience that connection with my rifle. I can't wait to take more classes
  • Really appreciate the video and.... welcome to precision rifle. I've been doing it for almost 50 years and I have seen your instructor shooting a match testing the EC tuner. I have shot 2-3" groups at over 900 yards in different winds multiple times just this year alone. I have several rifles capable of this but my favorite is a custom built 7 mm rem mag. I waited years to have built exactly how I wanted so I know what you mean when you say you have a relationship with your rifle. Good job on the video.
  • Great video! It’s awesome to see you come out of your comfort zone and build a new foundation from the ground up. Thank you for dropping the knowledge!
  • Seeing your excitement and intense joy from putting your training and tool to the test and passing immediately made me more interested in rifles in a way I've never contemplated before. I may never be able to afford your journey, but it inspires me to make my own. Great shooting and content!! Thanks for sharing.
  • @xciteful
FANTASTIC VIDEO. The pursuit of perfection in all things should be applauded for the effort involved. To you Colion, you have moved mountains in the 'respect meter' for engaging in something so trying and challenging. This is what life is about - pushing the limits of what's possible. Kudos to you brother.
  • This has to be one of my favorite videos. Seeing you show us the exciting part of learning about precision shooting and then doing what you did on that course was outrageous and so entertaining.
I have been assembling guns for myself with parts that work for me and installing adjustable triggers to set it just the way I want it to break.
I still have a long ways to go, plus I would love to have a Delta 5 but not in the budget, plus I am not a competitor.
Please keep up all the great things you do.
