  • Here's a very obscure fact about FF8: if you use scan on the mannequin enemy in the debug room in the English version you just get a random bunch of numbers. In the Italian version, the translator left a hidden message there saying basically: "Help me, this translation is killing me, I'm super tired"
  • @SorcererLance
FF8 also was the first to introduce the -ara and -aga naming of spells according to their strength level... as opposed to for example Fire1, Fire2, Fire3 in past games

This is why I still watch these videos sometimes: despite being a hyper-fan who could tell you from memory what 90% of the cards turn into using card mod, and what items turn into what spells, there were honestly 5 things I did not know prior to watching this video. Thank you.
  • @Sisren86
I've always absolutely loved how 90% of FF8's music uses the melody of either Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec or Eyes On Me. Even Waltz for the Moon!

At the start of 8 you can access the balamb school terminals and can see book returns to the library. The book "the sorceress knight" foreshadowing seifers dream and gives us additional context around the initial fight cutscene between seifer and squall. Thought that was interesting.

Whenever someone mentions FF8 it warms my heart! Thanks guys for this great video 🙌🏼

so I have a Final Fantasy 8 forearm sleeve tattoo and today at work I had a customer who had a gunblade tattoo and we instantly became best friends over our love for this underrated entry, just really wanted to share that, it was awesome
  • @auroninja
FF8 came out when I was 17, and interestingly, Squall is 17. I was going through a lot in my life similar to Squall's life. To this day, Squall is still the FF character I related to most.

ff8 was the first ff i ever played and my favorite. i've played it countless times but i didn't encounter even once that ragnarok glitch
  • @cr103
You can use any of zells moves in his limit break from the start of the game. You don't need to read the books or even have them in the selection box during his limit break to input the button combo for them.
  • @haxkn
Another fun fact, only the psx version of FF8 has vibration support. Felt really good hitting the gunblade trigger when the controller would tell you that you hit it right
  • @irighterotica
Because FF7 was my first in the series, when I eventually got 8 and started playing, I was confused and very disappointed to realize Cloud and the others were nowhere to be seen. I soon realized why that was and eventually became so wrapped up in the story that I got over it.

Eyes on Me...That brings back some really bittersweet memories. A damn fine song that reminds of one of the few people I ever ( and still do in my own way ) gave a damn about. I honestly couldn't imagine anyone doing it better than Fay Wong.
  • My first so 8 will always have a special place in my heart. I do get the junction system en plot criticism now though.

Very obscure. I'm a pretty hard-core fan of FF8 and this info is new for me. Gotta love this channel.
  • About Ultimecia's final monologue. She never finishes it, she end it with "And..." But I have a theory. She actually does finishes the monologue. Right after the battle and before she dies and passes her power to Edea in the past, Ultimecia has one final line "I can't disappear yet". I believe that was what she was going to say after the "And..." She was so close to absorbing all of time, space and reality that she was in disbelief that she was about to die. Dumb theory I know.
  • @MoonMagicks
Here's a fact you all probably don't know. Diablos is the coolest fucking summon ever and his animation in FFVIII is the best of every summon in every game.
