ding not accepting that draw was the most gigachad choice he could have ever done
  • On the most critical moment, Ding was more focused and poised and went for the win, while Nepo was shaky and nervous as soon as Ding refused draw. That was the difference.
  • @boxingjerapah
It all looks so easy on the screen, but for Ding to keep finding the correct moves under such pressure was absolutely fantastic.

Ding is the king of comebacks. Hikaru knows this first hand 😂
  • Nepo was never losing the entire match until the last few minutes of the last game. He didn’t know how to handle the pressure while Ding was under pressure the entire match.
  • @DKarkarov
Ding earned in a big way. Had to work his ass off to get in enough events to qualify for candidates, had to come back in candidates to sneak into the number 2 spot, and then had to fight from being down how many times in this match? He persevered and showed champion heart in a huge way, he deserves it. Grats to Ding.
  • @LyndenWu
I was always rooting for Ding because of the Ding meets Rapport videos 😂
  • @xvnbm
0:50 I like how he says "every move wins here" in the same spot where Caruana said it.

I was in team Nepo whole match, hoped he will win. But objectively, he had all the chances he needed to win. He threw winning position in game 12, and it was the turning point, not this rapid game. The problem I think that made him loose is that many many times he played too quickly in critical positions, where Ding in place of Ian would never blitz out moves. Congratz to Ding, and big disappointment for Ian and his fans. Edit: even more disappointing than his loss against Magnus. There he had everything in his hand, and yet threw his match lead multiple times☹️
  • crazy could’ve been hikaru playing instead of ding and now ding is the new world champion mind blown
  • @leexcite2903
Seeing their reactions while playing and thinking of what was at stake, this was absolutely gut wrenching.

Love the videos Hikaru. Keep up the great work.
  • Ding so respectful in the way he does not celebrate over the bord❤❤❤
  • To remain calm during the game and the match is a great quality for a chess world champion... Remember that....

  • It was heartbreaking to see Ian desperatly searching a way to win but knowing he lost
  • @WarpRulez
I bet that when Ding Liren refused the draw by repetition on the very last move that it could have happened, with a move that looked extremely risky, it was absolutely nerve-wrecking for him.
  • @moonboy5851
Ding is so tenacious on the board, never gives up.
