For this one I only picked songs for which both of them got the music credit only, or at least they were the only guitarist involved in this particual song.
While i only like the older Metallica stuff i concentrated on the first 5 albums of both bands.
Songs :
Hit the lights
Die by the sword
No remorse
Fight till death
Fight fire with fire
Necrophiliac
For whom the bell talls
At dawn the sleep
Leper messiah
Postmortem
Battery
Raining blood
Blackened
Read between the lies
The shortest straw
Spill the blood
Wherever i may roam
Dead Skin Mask
Sad but true
Seasons in the abyss
Hope you guys like this shit !!

The metal world wouldn’t be anywhere near as good without either of these two adding to the history. RIP Jeff Hanneman.

I prefer JH riffs
-
These two old lesbians are so supportive of each other's riffs. It's good sportsmanship.

Okay, here's what really floors me about Jeff. By his own admission, he was way behind Kerry as a guitarist when the band started. He's on record saying he had to learn fast. Yet it was Jeff that wrote most of Slayer's best songs. Goes to show, it isn't what you know, it's what you fucking do with it! RIP! JEFF! SLAAAAAAAAAAAAYER!!!!

You look like if Lars and James had a kid
-
Now that’s a riff duel. No fancy techniques, tunings, or pedals, just two raw players who could melt your face off with their riffs.
-
Die By The Sword will always be one of the coolest riffs I've ever heard
-
Postmortem and Raining blood are the 2 best consecutive songs on any album and I appreciate you playing them together

As always, Hetfield is the personification of the RIFF that grabs you immediately, with immense hook power and charisma. Hanneman is the lurker RIFFER that is more sinister, more complex, and creeps up on you. Both are AWESOME RIFF masters! And you should use the fact that both are Initial J.H. in your post description!

Two JH's ruled metal music.
-
Lombardo V Ulrich would be much shorter.

Hetfield riffs are kinda Heavy Metal, A mix between Nwobhm and 70's Punk. Hanneman sounds like an Evil Judas Priest with US Hardcore. I mean, Slayer is pretty unique, very innovative for its moment.

Always been a diehard Metallica fan since they came out but Slayer has some of the best riffs ever. When I 1st saw the title I was like pfft not even close, but Hetfield wrote some major riffs. So it ended up being damn close. But Slayer took it in my book

The breakdown riff in Angel of Death is probably the most iconic Thrash riff ever made, it takes some beating.
-
Hanneman melting ALL !!! Long live Hanneman!
-
Could you imagine if these two collaborated on a song together in their prime??
-
Best day of my life was when I got to shake Jeff Hanneman's hand. Sorry to my wife if she see's this post... but she'll understand.

Why people give thumbs down to this man's videos? They are very enjoyable with a little bit of humour, his guitar playing is excellent, the sound is very good and compares the riffs of different musicians who are in the same genre. I don't really see a point of giving thumbs down. I enjoy all of these "VS" videos.

The winner is...... HEAVY METAL!!! :)
