We bought a microwave bacon cooker to see if they actually work.
Let's cook up a few slabs at different lengths of time to see how they turn out!

Your BBQ was looking through the window thinking "WTF GREGORY I'M RIGHT HERE!"
  • I would have drained the liquid out each time as that would be preventing the bacon from becoming crispy. They would have been cooking but steaming at the same time

I didn't know that Australians were so funny. You're awesome.

Hey Mate invest in a small pair of tongs. Your fingers will thank you and they're extremely handy anyway. I have have at least five sets of quality tongs . I use them constantly
  • @davidk8699
I reckon you'd get a better result without stopping every minute. Try it for 4 or 5 minutes straight up without stopping.

This video has shown me that we want everything microwavably fast. ๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿฅ“๐Ÿฅ“There's no way overlapped bacon is going to be cooked on a plastic container in 3-5 minutes when is constantly being brought back to room temperature. Now that you have done this video (which is definitely appreciated) I think you should cook the same cut style of bacon, and do it for 5 minutes CONSISTENTLY.

If thatโ€™s how bacon looks in Australia then Iโ€™m moving to Australia!

I got a microwave bacon cooker and it works too. Got the tray just like yours but not the lid. Nice vid Greggo!
  • @DerekArmsden
Most of that liquid in the tray isn't fat, it's the salt solution (AKA brine, ie water, salt & sugar) they inject into cheap supermarket bacon. Buy good bacon from a local butcher and you won't get all that liquid, AND it'd crisp up better because it wouldn't be steaming.
  • @Nannerchan
I like the five minutes, but Iโ€™m sure that it depends on the wattage of your particular microwave oven.
