“He notices an awkward silence between the girls” The girl: is mute
-
10:13 he says she violated his privacy? IDK maybe you shouldn't have been a creep and tell your supposed deaf crush how you wanna make love to her TO HER FACE
-
People who sexually assault their own children are vile, vile people. And people who allow their child to be assaulted by the other parent, or by their partner, are just as vile.
-
Dot dodged a bullet with Connor. Who literally harasses a supposed deaf/mute girl but then acts like a victim cuz she heard all the dirty secrets HE TOLD HER??? Bruh. I'm glad at least in this movie Dot doesn't go after him and beg for forgiveness and they end up together like any other movie would've done.
-
Even if she's really deaf, that was very stupid of Connor to tell her his secrets.
-
The true definition of the quiet kid
-
"I'm... Not going to make a joke about that." Thank you! Two thumbs up for not making fun of sexual assault.
-
It's funny how he blames her for violating his trust by hearing his Dirty Secrets but why was he telling this to her just because he thought she was deaf that's his own stupid fault
-
He said that he wasn’t going to make a joke, but that line was actually a joke
-
It makes sense that the mom was the one who took the blame. She's atoning for her sin of literally not stopping his husband from assaulting his own daughter
-
Connor was literally a creep. Just bc I’m deaf doesn’t give you the right to say disgusting and vile things to me.
-
Connor: tells dot all his secrets Dot: doesn’t tell anyone Connor: how could you betray me
-
people always want to avoid the dark side but this movie shows it and shows what people have to deal with and what people think aloud. pretty deep and underrated.
-
Are we just gonna ignore that a guy took a deaf girl on a date with out knowing sign language 🤔
-
Sadly I find it a bit more fair that the mother takes the blame. The entire time I hated her as much as I hated the father, so it just seems right. After all those years of her letting her husband abuse their own daughter, it only feels befitting that she takes the blame if she ever actually cared for her.
-
Nobody caught the part when he said, "Connor is on the team, but he's so bad, the coach puts him on the bench after the first few minutes." 😂😂😂😂😂
-
Every girl I know keeps pads or tampons in their bag all the time, even if she was pregnant it would be silly to assume that she wasn’t just because she hadn’t taken them out?
-
Honestly, if the girls were honest and informed the police that it was an act of self defense, there likely wouldn’t be any prison sentence against them since he was the instigator
-
When I first watched this movie and Conner called Dot out I was like wtf, he's the one who told her all those random weird things. Just because you thought she was deaf doesn't mean you had the right to be so blatantly creepy.

Many people have reasons to not speak, and no one owes lending their ears to strangers. Dot has a reason for her silence and her introduction to her new family would make plenty of people become reclusive. Being silent and listening to others around you makes you realize who people really are and what their true colors are when they think you can't hear them.
