Young people dying for old people's decisions
-
There's a minimum age to be a politician, there should also be a maximum age
-
1. People live longer. 2. Once someone gets a taste of power, they never want to let go.
-
Younger politicians face big barriers like lack of funding and political networks. They often can't match the resources and connections that older politicians have built over decades. Plus, with an aging population, older voters prefer candidates who share their experiences and values. This is why we see leaders like Biden and Pelosi, who have the backing of older demographics and established networks, staying in power.
-
Elderly leaders shouldn't be making decisions they won't have to live with. It's just wrong.
-
Once there was a prime minister in Malaysia aged 93.
-
The disconnect between generations is more than just tech. The older generation came of age in an economy and a society that is phasing out, and is largely unavailable to the younger generation.
-
It's about wisdom, not age. You can be 80 and still act like an immature teenager.
-
Wealth is in the hands of the elder population.
-
As a Taiwanese I can confirm that our politicians are generally still younger, like if they can still fight in the parliament you know they must not be too old 😆
-
Old people will vote for old politicians. Who will then return the favor by promising ever-increasing pensions and housing prices. And who foots the bill? Younger voters through ever-growing taxes.
-
It is called gerontocracy. Old people holding on to power, legally or not.
-
No wonder they think so short term. They won't be here to live through the consequences of their actions.
-
Boomers and older just will NOT step aside. They are the hoarding generation.
-
Time to put an age limit on these jobs.
-
getting a tiktok and dancing to "appeal to the youths" is so infantilizing
-
It’s also worth noting many of these older leaders actually started out when they were considered to be young for the job and stayed in power for a long time. Putin was in his 40’s when he first became president of Russia and same for Benjamin Netanyahu when he first became prime minister of Israel…

Older people don’t understand the modern world enough to tackle modern problems. Wisdom and experience is outweighed by incompetence and a lack of full-picture concern. The presidency has turned into a saving-face stage act, and most americans see it for what it is. We’re just tired of being lied to
-
In Europe people are older than their leaders. Wow😮
