  • That Beach Boys Salute Nascar album was for sale at Union 76 gas stations. Rob bought it with me at a gas station and played several times for me...our vote for absolute worst Beach Boys album. He also has Looking Back WIth Love and because he DOES love cheese, he knows it well...Mike Love covers an Abba song on it, On and On and On...but changes a line in it to make it from a male perspective and it was really corny, I forget exactly what it was. Back when R.E.M.'s Monster came out, it made my boyfriend at the time, Mark, really mad. He said, 'that's not a monster, that's a dorky looking bear!' It didn't bother me that much, honestly, but it really annoyed him. I love Max Webster, don't have a problem with that one either.

This has been a great series so far! Some of my favorites by you along with memorial comedian
  • Mystery To Me is actually a great album. Hypnotized is a killer Bob Welch track.
  • @billywol9714
Thanks for the really great things you are doing on youtube. Ive done 1 and 2 and now on part 3 of worst albums. VERY enjoyable. You seem a great chap with a top sense of humour. Keep it up mate. All the best from England !!!!!

The guy in the last one looks like Burt Reynolds.
  • I love how his expression on the 'Woman Love' cover looks more like he's just confused about this gigantess above him; it's definitely not as sexy as I guess they were going for. On another note, I do really like ones like 'The Happy Tones' where it seems to be a family just having fun and making a record together. It may be unflattering, but I'm sure it's a really great memento for some music-loving families.
  • The Elvis Costello one is a really great album, although it is partly reworkings of previously recorded songs with drastically different arrangements. The cover is an homage to the iconic book cover of Allen Ginsberg's Howl.

Re How Far Is It to Hell: My guess is that it's probably the distance of the needle to the surface of the record...
  • @BigSky1
At Play With The Playmates. 🤔🤣
  • @elc1960
That Bloodrock album, if I'm not mistaken, is the album which contains their only Billboard Top 40 hit, D.O.A.
  • @mgconlan
The Elvis Costello album cover is a copy of the famous front cover of Allen Ginsbreg's book "'Howl' and Other Poems."
  • @greggates1137
That Corey Feldman album has the worst rendition of John Lennon's Working Class Hero that I have ever heard...and it is my favorite Lennon tune too so that should tell you something lol

Erkin Koray is perhaps the best turkish guitarrist of the Anadolu Rock in the 60s and 70s. Anatolian Rock is a fusion of turkish folk and western rock and psych. Other great bands and musicians were Mogollar, Ersen, 3-Hürel, Baris Manco or Bunalim. The plaintive singing of the oriental music is a bit unfamiliar at first, but the rhythm and the musical skills of the musicians are often great. I can also recommend fantastic compilations like "Hava Narghile" and "Turkish Delights" to check out very rare beat & psych bands from the 60s.
  • Ringo The Fourth (1977) is Ringo's worst cover. Just horrible!
  • @tonyeamon5118
Just when I thought I had seen the worst you surprised me with the most disturbing album covers ever. Thanks Larry
