My trip to London part 1. The CITY and COVENT GARDEN

Published 2023-05-19
Hello, my friends! If you want to like, comment, share or subscribe I'll be very happy!
As always, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the friendship and affection you always show me through your visits and comments. Please, watch the video entirely to help my channel grow!
This video begins a small series of videos shot during my recent trip to London at Easter time.
You will see some pictures of the outbound flight from Milan to Stansted airport and a small room tour of the Hotel where I stayed with my husband, the Tower Hotel, which I highly recommend above all for its location and for the amazing view of Tower Bridge.
I decided to start these videos with the City of London, the most modern and fast-growing metropolitan area of the British capital.
Its skyscrapers, the ever-changing skyline make it an unmissable place to visit.
But the City of London is also its oldest nucleus, the historic Londinium of the Roman era, the same area that saw the spread of the terrible fire, the Great Fire of 1666.
History and modernity continuously flank each other in the City of London, very tall and fascinating skyscrapers, such as the Walkie Talkie, for example, where the very famous Sky Garden is located, an extraordinary observation point, next to ancient churches, which carve out spaces between the walls of glass and steel.
A truly fascinating contrast.
In one of the next videos, I will show you the Sky Garden together with one of the icons of London, the Tower of London, also part of the City, but which I have deliberately left for another video, so as not to make this one too long.
The City has its own well-defined identity with respect to the rest of the City of London, so much so that it has its own Mayor, administration and police force.
And it is also said that only those born within the sound of the Church of St. Mary-le-Bow, in the City, can define themselves as a true cockney....
The video then continues with another absolutely fascinating area of this extraordinary city: Covent Garden.
From the marvelous Royal Opera House, famous throughout the world, to the splendid "Piazza" and its historic and famous market, which I visited in a moment of absolute calm, when everything was still closed, on Easter morning.
And then, wandering a little further, discovering historic alleys such as the charming Goodwin's Court, where one is literally catapulted into another era, or the colorful Neal's Yard, immersing myself in the charming atmosphere of this part of London, so vibrant and suggestive, pushing me to reach Denmark Street, which has always had a very close relationship with the history of British music.
Finally, a bit of the charm of London by night with a walk on Tower Bridge and a view of the City and the Tower of London.
Friends, I hope this video will make you spend a few pleasant minutes enjoying the beauty and the charm of this incredible city that really leaves its mark.
A big hug and thanks for visiting my channel!
Renata
