This is so sad. I’m sorry for the families loss. 🙏🏿🙏🏾🙏🏽

ON the ship issue, why is no one talking about Primary and Auxiliary Power? Yeah the lights flickered, doesn't mean you lose propulsion and rudder. When power fails, Auxiliary kicks in for the engine and rudder. You do not lose control of a vessel this size. WTF going on here.
-
Seems like the ship was heading toward the pillar before the power went off.

I must say it: you keep saying "one of the most busiest port in USA, yet when I watch the shipping active map, the harbour were almost empty.

Hazardous material not hurtful for humans? Really? What about sea life?

During the exodus day of April 30, 1975, any ships and boats could navigate to the international sea, they would! One of the cargo ship under the Singapore flag and navigated by a Vietnamese captain and crews, was sabotaged by some of the crews unorder to stop the ship to leave the Saigon harbor with thousand of Vietnamese who wanted to flee the communist avalanche. The sabotage group poured some water into the hydraulic steering system to stop the captain to maneuver the ship to leave the dock. By some luck with the high tide and high current at that crucial time, experienced skill from the captain and talented crews, they set up the ropes to allow the river current to turn the ship around toward to the sea direction and repaired the water contaminated hydraulic maneuver steering system. That was one of the ship sabotage stories. By the way, there were 3 Hispanic crews died and 4 more bodies have not been found. So have some decent compassions as humans!
