This is the second building occupied by the Art Institute of Chicago, it was built in 1893 for the World's Fair (Columbian Exposition) and the architecture is Beaux Arts. You can see two bronze lions guarding the main entrance which lies just off Michigan Ave and Adams Street in The Loop.
Check out the Corinthian columns and names of immortal artists etched into the facade of the building. You will definitely need more than one visit to enjoy everything that the AIoC has to offer, be sure to experience it to the fullest!

Interesting Institute. I should not know what my favorite work is from that immense collection of famous artists. Fact is, there is everything. It makes me think of the metropolitan Museaum of Art in NYC but the style like you said is beau art which is very pleasant to look at. Anyways when i come around, the Art Institue is on my list. I need sponssors...
