  • bribe or gratuity, it is unethical. Supreme Court Judges should never be receiving "gratuities" for doing their job.

Justice is not equal for all, the U.S. supreme court is officially for sale.
  • The Supreme Court needs some checks and balances. They need to be able to be sued too.they are not protecting or fighting for the American Public.
  • I feel like Scotus has become the evil villain team in a new comic book series.

When money is allowed to speak louder than people, we have a democracy in crisis.
  • So, let me get this straight. I work for a global company which strictly prohibits all gifts, whether bribes, or out of kindness. This even extends to prohibiting leaving a box of sweets in a common area. We are not allowed to receive anything for free. Ever. But the Supreme Court? Nah, it's all cool. Insane.
  • @laalaa99stl
If a judge might reasonably anticipate receiving said gratuity then that still taints the decision.
  • @blacxthornE
i love that the standards for judges went from "the appearance of impropriety" to "you know you can just leave the money on the counter"
  • @sailincat2822
So, the lobbyist parks the luxury motorhome in front of Thomas' house before the court decision, but they don't hand over the keys until after the vote on their case?,
  • @Omni0404
The worst part about the Supreme Court is how powerless we are to do anything about it.
  • For elected officials, "gratuities" should be just as illegal as bribes. It amounts to the same thing.
  • @LynnS-bz5eq
WFT Why are the leaders and policy makers allowed to be tipped. But the guy that loads groceries in the back of the car will get fired for excepting tips
  • Absolutely insane reasoning. They just admit they’re in it for the money.

On a writing discussion: AI keep saying it can write my novel and paint my masterpiece. What I really want is someone to do my dishes and clean my laundry while I write my novel or paint.
  • @MrNice-gw5dt
sounds like the supreme court thinks (bribes) tips aren't a bad thing.....
  • @BrentHollett
"We'll give you free money after you do this, just don't tell anyone beforehand".
  • @kevinsix666
the gratuity ruling is wild. How does the court even have the 15% approval rating they have? Who are these people that still support them. Bleak.
