Supreme Court Justice Sonya Sotomayor questioned former President Donald Trump’s lawyer D. John Sauer Thursday over what constitutes an “official act” by the president, as the nation’s highest court decides whether Trump should receive immunity from prosecution for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election.

Sotomayor asked Sauer if a president ordering his political rival’s assassination because he believed his opponent was corrupt would constitute an official act. Sauer said it could.

“It could? And why? Because he’s doing it for personal reasons,” Sotomayor countered.

“And isn't that the nature of the allegations here? That he's not doing these acts in furtherance of an official responsibility. He's doing it for personal gain,” she added.

And if they say Trump can get away with then Biden should handle his business right away.

Do you believe this is being litigated it's embarrassing for the US.
  • There can be no immunity for any American president who commits a crime. The law has to be applied equally for all Americans, or this is no law.

For them to carry it this far along, I have doubts about SCOTUS! No one is above the law!
  • Giving a president absolute immunity from prosecution invites anyone in power to commit crimes without impunity - a very bad idea and SCOUTUS should reject the argument
  • T. RUMP isn't arguing he's innocent, he's arguing he has the right to be a criminal

I look forward to seeing what Joe Biden will do with his immunity.

What a bunch of Bozos. Why are they even listening to this case? It is ridiculous!

If SCOTUS grants the office of the President immunity from prosecution, I think President Biden should use this new immunity and take the appropriate actions.
  • If the supreme court was not biased in favor of right wing politics, it would not be involved in this case because its so stupid. It's too bad our highest court has lowered its standards.

tRump isn't arguing he's innocent, he's arguing he has the right to commit any crime he wants. He's arguing he has the powers of a king.
  • It is just utterly ridiculous to spend time to argue this immunity case. This man, Trump, and his criminal cases, is absolutely, unquestionably guilty!!

So pathetic that they even took this up! Such a scam!!! No one is above the law! That lawyers voice is cringe! 🥴

The Supreme Court should not be hearing cases solely to delay court cases for an individual.
  • THOMAS RULING ON A CRIMINAL HEARING IS JUST IRONY AT ITS FINEST
