  • I’m Jon and Kirk’s sister and I’m very excited to see this car come back to life!

I have no idea why this story would come to my page, being a women who isn’t in to cars, although my husband is an auto painter, neither of us care for it as a hobby. That was so much fun to watch, the history and knowledge of it all. The man who assessed it really knows his stuff! The men who sold it were so nice and I wish you all the luck with your dream car! I hope I get to see it when it’s all done! I do appreciate a great paint job along with all the other work !

That's alright man. That's alright. Congratulations on your dream purchase. Please keep us in the loop on how it's progressing! I, for one, would love a whole new series of videos documenting the restoration. Congrats again, and big thanks to all your buddies for helping it all fall in place. 👍
  • Nebraska!! I was recently handed down a 68 mustang that was won on a $1 raffle in 1968. These videos fuel my desire to get it restored. It's gotten me into classic cars more than I could have imagined. Nice barn find!

My dad bought '67 GT350 Fastback, with the 390- 4 on the floor, brand new back in '67. He said it was really too much car for the road back then. He said Alabama State Troopers wouldn't even try. I have ONE PHOTO of that car.
  • I was all of 16 years old in 1982 when I saw a Shelby Cobra sitting in a barn in Indiana. We were painting the barn and saw something covered with some blankets to protect it from the pigeon shit. As a curious kid, I went in and pulled back the cover......and I fell in love. The owners had parked a disk, plow and planter around it to keep it there. Always wonder what became of it.
  • I remember lusting after these cars a a youngster. They are so ultra cool and beautiful, especially the red ones. I can't wait to see it when you have finished the restoration. I am happy you found the car you have always wanted.

Jerry-good to see another Shelby Mustang saved from just sitting in a barn. I know it will take awhile to "do it right", but please keep us posted on your progress on bringing this old girl back to life!
  • Congratulations! What a find. My son is struggling to finish restoring a1969 GT 500 Shelby that his dad bought and had the car torn down to frame. He got sick with a rare cancer from Agent Orange and died in 2016. My son has been working on it ever since .
  • CONGRATULATIONS Jerry! Looking forward to any and all updates….great opportunity to document a full restoration from start to finish. Again, congrats on the find of a lifetime👍

Every time I drive past a barn I wonder, "Hmmm, what's in there?" So cool!
  • @planecrazy400

  • @zenoist2101
It's really heartwarming when something goes to a person that really deserves it and would really treasure it.
  • This was a nice watch.. all genuine people. Not a couple a vultures trying to make a buck off someone else.. all folks were very genuine .wish I had friends like this. Thank you for sharing
  • You Guys are Amazing ~!!! Thank you for the education and trip down memory lane~!!!
  • Noticing that the Fenders were replaced without obvious damage mean that the famous Midwest road salt must have been at work. Good luck with the restoration. Keep a video journal of the restoration such as Jo Daddy's Garage does with his restorations. It would be a blast to see this project come together.
  • I feel really lucky to have grown up with a favorite uncle who had a 68 gt350 from the time i was born. Not too many people ever even get to ride in a Shelby and i cruised around in one every summer until about 1997. He finally sold his mint candy red 68 Shelby and at the time $35k was a lot, but Gone in 60 seconds come out not long after and the prices of them went thru the roof because of Eleanor. Plus it was originally a 1 of 6 Raven black w/ black luxury seats car, so it would be so valuable today, it always drove perfectly.
