Too many bad stories about Baja. Americans need not to go there anymore.
  • Im from Perth, born and bred šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗThis has hit our home town hard...Perth is one of the most isolated cities in the world and dont make the news much...this is the last thing anyone from here would want our lovely city to be remembered for ..such a senseless, brutal waste of brilliant young lives.. That poor mum and dad ..i cant imagine that moment of identification of their boys šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢šŸ˜¢

I used to go to Mexico a couple time a year I've been to ensinada and rosarita...but after being assaulted and beaten unconscious and robbed 20 years ago I stopped going there and I advise anyone that thinks about going DON'T!! ITS VERY DANGEROUS!
  • Yeah, gee whiz. What could be safer than three Surfer Dudes going into a failed state with no rule of law?

My God; I used to frequent that area; stop going because I never felt safe.
  • As a Mexican American, I sometimes feel personally ashamed that the homeland of my relatives and ancestors continues to deliver news headlines like this. I can visit Mexico no problem because Iā€™ve got family there I can blend in the local population just fine but not all foreigners have that luxury and that makes innocent foreign visitors targets. Thereā€™s so much to see and explore in Mexico, it can be a magnificent place to visit but if anyone asked me if they should visit, Iā€™d have to tell them no. If you donā€™t have family or business there you shouldnā€™t visit unless itā€™s for a very good reason. Otherwise itā€™s just best to stay out of Mexico for your own safety. RIP
  • Stay away from these dangerous places. I stopped going there over 40 years ago.

A few years back I was working right on the border in a real dangerous drug hauling area. I see these three young American 20 somethingā€™s (1 woman with her two male suiters in tow) with backpacks hiking around without a care in the world like theyā€™re in Austria or something. I started trying to tell them they shouldnā€™t be there but the girl just cuts me off with this self assured, ā€œOh weā€™ll be fine.ā€ She was more put off that I was carrying a rifle and pistol. Later that day I ran into Border Patrol and told them about it and the agent told me they were still looking for a guy that went missing in the area six months before.

Rule #1 don't ever go to a 3rd world country with US license plates!

Taking trips across the border isnā€™t safe anymore. Even if you go with a group thinking youā€™d be safe, youā€™re not. Enter at your own risk, leave if you canā€¦.
