Japan and the United States are top-class baseball powers, so the clash between the two countries with the strongest love for baseball was mysterious.

As an American, great game, period! Congratulations to Japan! You earned it, you deserve it. As well as all other teams who played. This was an incredibly memorable moment in time and our shared history.

The fans and the media are solely focused on Ohtani but this game demonstrates how criminally underrated the Japanese baseball league is. Five NPB pitchers combining for one run in 7 innings against this stacked US lineup and two homers coming out of the best sluggers in the Japanese league

The WBC is the best thing to happen to baseball in the past 50 years. MLB should do a lot more and spend a lot more money on the globalization of the game. I think is a win win situation for everyone involved, but specially for MLB and all the teams. Ohtani is the man of the hour, he's paving the way to a wonderful long carreer. Congratulations to Team Japan, from a Venezuelan in Spain. PS: We want high level baseball in Europe too, we've always been forgoten by MLB.
