We have had our back yard pond since 2004 and always struggled with getting our water clear and keeping it that way. We tried everything, bought everything, researched and all of it was to no avail. We just kept getting sold another product that just didn't work. Well we have discovered the foolproof way to keep our water crystal clear all the time and it's a super simple process and doesn't break the bank!

Most of your problem is you have zero pond plants but yours is a great solution. Finding a balance of beneficial bacteria and pond plants is also a solution. That's a gorgeous pond in full bloom.
  • Thank you sir for sharing these tips ,your video was great ,well done !
  • I know a far simpler way, fill a big hole full of gravel, more the better, attach a pump from the pond to the bottom of the gravel so it flows out back into pond through the gravel, hey presto.. good bacteria at work. My water is crystal clear and all I did was fill a water butt full of stones and pebbles and pumped water through. magic.

Great looking pond and man cave/garage. Echoing others, bog filter is the way to go and you’re almost there. Won’t need all the additives. Ozponds has some great info vids. Bottom line though, if you enjoy doing what you’re doing, go with it. Great video.🙂

How do you get the fish to not eat your lily’s, mine have been devouring mine leaving no leaves. Thanks for sharing this video. Is the water you are putting back into your pond dechlorinated? Beautiful koi’s and pond!

Beneficial bacteria is the key. Make a wetland/bog 15% of your the surface of your pond. Add riverrock and pebble and never use chemicals again. Your base is good. With the rock and gravel just lacking surface area in your filter. Thats what the bioballs are for.

How long will the pond stay clear for before you need to do the treatment again.
