I break down Carlos Alcaraz's incredible 2024 Wimbledon title defense. I analyze his matches from the tricky first round against Mark Lajal to his straight-sets victory over Novak Djokovic in the final. We'll explore fascinating new stats like "In Attack" and "Shot Quality" that Wimbledon introduced this year, and discuss how Alcaraz's performance compares to his 2023 run. How do you think this second Wimbledon title will impact Carlitos' quest to regain the world number one ranking? And what does his dominant win over Djokovic tell us about the changing of the guard in men's tennis?

It's crazy to see how difficult Alcaraz's draw was compared to Novak's.

He has all the talent, its joyful to watch, its a great guy on and off the court, and he has the mentality of a true champion. We are so lucky to witness the begining of Alcaraz legacy.

Crazy thing is that Alcaraz has never lost a grand slam match when up either 2-0 or 2-1. If anyone wants to beat Alcaraz in a match, they better not let him get that lead or it is basically over for them.
  • Absolutely love Carlos and Sinner!! But I have a very special place for Carlos in my heart!! I liked him very much the second I saw him play!! ❤❤.. Vamos!!!

The moment he reduces the unforced errors he will be almost unbeatable . At the moment what truly separates this guy from the pack is the astonishing record on long 5 set matches , virtually he wins them all . Let's hope for a good autumn training schedule that will allow him to reach the Australian open on peak condition to achieve the mind blowing record of a career Grand slam at the age of 21

I stopped watching tennis back in 1995. I wish I hadn’t. Anyway, 3 years ago I decided to give it another try. It was during Indian Wells, and Carlitos was around 20 in the world. I watched him play, and was hooked back in the game. Now I watch almost every ATP 500 and above and a lot of WTA too. He brings so much joy, and so much incredible play to the game, that there is never a boring match with him.

I just hope people keep underestimating carlos so he keeps on proving them wrong and winning all those slams😂

As a fan of Carlitos and the new gen in general, I still think that the biggest reason for the Wimbledon result being what it was was Novak’s lack of playing ability. In the first two sets we saw absolutely zero body language and motivation- he just looked oddly flat and subdued. The third was slightly better and we saw glimpses of what could have been from Novak- at this point though, alcaraz was on a run and was locked in. If Novak wanted to win the match he needed to get into the zone MUCH earlier to catch alcaraz cold. Also, his knee made it so that his movement was hindered and he had to play a hyper aggressive style, going for unconvincing net approaches and risky redirection- in the end, this made it easy pickings for alcarz’s defence and athleticism.

Despite Alcaraz winning 4 grand slams he is still very humble guy that’s something I respect

The voice and articulate English is a delight. The content even more. One of the best tennis channels. Please I want to know about Holger Rune.
  • I love Sinner and his play style, but my goodness Alcaraz’s ceiling is sky high..
  • carlos alcaraz and jannik sinner are gonna be the next big 2
  • Lajal doesn't pull off Lajal's hairstyle. (But I'm old, never mind.)
  • @MartinJohnZ
You could definately pull off Lajal's hairstyle. Maybe try on a wig for a couple of days and see how your friends and family react. But I genuinely believe that if you walk the walk, AND you talk the talk, you can absolutely wick the wick, jig the jig, and wig the wig!
