A SMALL PICKUP TRUCK WAR IS STARTING AND THERE'S A NEW CHEAP PICKUP TRUCK that I think is actually worth buying in 2024. Over the past few years full size trucks have been getting bigger, fancier, and more expensive. But in 2024 sales of these overpriced trucks have slowed to a crawl and buyers are looking for cheaper options when it comes to the trucks they buy. The small truck market is starting to make a huge comeback and we now have more options than ever.

Who cares that Toyota sells a $10,000 truck in other countries? I can't buy it here so it might as well not exist.

This crap is all OVERPRICED! 30,000= is WAY to much for a entry level midsize truck!
  • the Maverick started at $19,999 Ford didn't promise a $25,000 truck they promised a sub-20k and failed to deliver.

$52k for a used mini truck? No way.......

I just want a four door, V6, stick shift, no bells and whistles truck. Apparently that is a lot to ask.
  • We are buying older truck 20+ years and put a new motor and trans. Its allot cheaper to repair.

It's not inflation, it's price gouging and greed.

Back in 1988 I bought a new Ford F-350 4x4 Diesel cab and chassis for my business. I paid 17,600 dollars for it. My payment was 376.52 a month. Total cost with financing was 23,600 dollars. I thought that was a crazy bad decision back then. Lol.

I believe Toyota made a mistake removing the V8 engine from their full-size truck. Now, they made another mistake removing their V6 engine from the midsize truck. The future sales of these trucks will show what a mistake that was.

I picked up a certified 22 Frontier 4x4 about 6 months ago for the mid 20’s. Love it! I had to fly 1300 miles to Idaho to get that deal but it was worth it.

For the cost of a new truck, I can drag one out of the desert, put a modern drivetrain in it, have the differentials professionally rebuilt by Moser engineering, have the interior reupholstered, convert it to all LED lights, upgrade to 4 wheel disc brakes, have it professionally painted AND have money left over. It also costs less to register and insurance cost less.

"Cheap Truck"? I saw them in concert! ... Oh wait, that was 'Cheap Trick'. Nevermind.
  • @dcpete5475
He talks like 45000 before taxes is cheap lol. Bring a basic single cab 4 cyl stickshift rwd for 20 grand

Maverick just identifies as a truck, closer to a wheelbarrow.

They just need to go back to the mini trucks they built in the 80s. A simple 4 cylinder 150hp. Simple interior . They want do it because. A truck like the Isuzu, Mazda or S10. Would kill all other sales. A simple mini truck simple engine with a 5 or 6 speed standard. A/C and manual window options. That we can add the after market parts to upgrades we want. Just give us a simple truck that's affordable.... It's what we want

I don't understand why manufacturers can't offer a half ton pickup for $25k or less. I think it's very possible.
  • @secretdrone
This 'new normal' inflation pricing is wild..

I loved my 79 and 88 Toyota Hi-Lux trucks. They were simple and bulletproof. My 88 brand new was $9385. I'm fine with roll up windows and mechanical seats. They've just made everything too complicated and expensive.

If they quit making EVERYTHING a 4 door and go back to extended cabs, they could sell a truck on the same frame without a “baby” bed. I would buy that and the towing capacity would increase.
