Marcus Capone founder of VETS, INC. along with his Wife Amber Capone join us on The Shawn Ryan Show to discuss Marcus's military career as a Tier 1 explosive breacher at DEVGRU also known as SEAL Team 6. Marcus goes in depth as to the effects of explosive breaching and the effects of being combat warfighter has on the brain. We then cover how single treatment of psychedelic assisted therapy would not only save his life, but bring his family back together after almost losing them due to mild traumatic brain damage.

It always amazes me how SEALs who operate at the highest level under the toughest conditions remain so humble and real. This should be an example for so many everyday regular pricks who think the world revolves around them and treat their fellow men as garbage. Hats off to all the great warriors who keep the world safe.

Marcus is the definition of “nobody understands the violence it took to be this calm”
  • This women IS strength! She stayed by her man for better or worse, in sickness and in health. God bless their family and all the families of our military for their sacrifice and their service.

My wife is a psychiatrist, and listened to this whole episode with me. Now she has a better understanding of what we go through because of this show, Shawn.

Ok, I never thought I would say this but I actually find these podcasts more interesting that Joe Rogan’s. I officially found my new favorite. This channel is amazing. I literally stayed up until 3AM watching the Tu Lam interview. Thanks so much Shawn for doing this and thank you for your service. 🙏🇺🇸👍

Just getting started, but had to comment this. Shawn, you opened up complimenting Marcus on the respect him and his wife have towards each other and mentioning how they don't talk over each other. That is your best quality and why I enjoy your podcast so much. So many times, the "interviewer" butts in, interrupts, tries to make everything about themselves, or they seem to try to keep the attention on themselves, instead of the guest. You do an amazing job at letting the guest, be the guest. I don't think I've ever heard you cut someone off, or interrupt them. So you deserve a compliment as well.
  • I'm addicted to these stories. These men, all of them, it's hard to believe there's men like this on this earth that are so completely tough and honorable. I love to hear their stories. It's important we hear them.

This is the third time I’ve watched this episode. It’s amazing watching this episode again after seeing Shawn’s transformation. You can really see the hurt and pain he’s suffering in Shawn’s eyes. He looks like a totally different person in this episode compared to the most recent ones. I’m so happy for you guys man, it’s great to see!!

The Shawn Ryan show is very purpose driven, I really don’t see anything else like it on YouTube or on any other platform for that matter, it’s very real and substantive, I keep watching these shows over and over…
  • @Flashhood1425
Shawn is a fantastic interviewer… because in these intense moments he doesn’t have to talk all the time like so many other hosts… he just looks quietly and intensely back at the guest and they always fill it in on their own with something powerful. Awesome stuff.

As a multiple tour veteran, this podcast is a fresh breath of air to information that has been stifled by stigma and big pharma nonsense. Another amazing conversation between some real folks. Bravo.
  • @matamata5479
Good to hear from an operator who worked closely with the kiwis and canadians SF. Total respect and humility 👍
  • It’s just disgusting how the veteran community is just dismissed after service to this country. I’m happy to see and hear about success stories like this. Great interview!
  • @bravo-kilo230
Mad respect for the wife. Military families go through so much and the ones that stay together are unicorns.
  • @Andromedon777
Shawn, you are setting an example for us young men. We are watching your wisdom keenly and learning. Thank you, Sir.
  • I am a flight paramedic and have been a first responder for 18 years. I have been exposed to every manner of death imaginable. I started working with ayahuasca apx 5 years ago and it completely transformed my life. My hats off to anyone like Marcus who has the courage to do this very special work and become a public advocate for it. If anyone out there reading this is at the end of their rope, there is still hope. Don't be to proud too reach out for help.
  • The most significant events in your life pass you by like a stranger in the crowd, they occur and you don't even know it. But, every now and then, but by the grace of god, does a window open and you see those events as they occur. From that point forward, your life will never be the same again.

Just watched Marcus recently on the team never quit podcast...this is more what I was looking for. Shawn, Andy and Mike ritland are so necessary and important. We need to do whatever possible to support these guys.

He's truly lucky to have a partner like his wife. She saved his life.
