Riding my unicycle in the night on mountain roads, Maehia, Chiangmai, Thailand.
This guy was lucky it was me... A Thai person would have catch it to make a soup and sell the skin.
Kidding...
Hmmm... or not?... Actually the soup is quite tasty and the skin quite expensive... :P

And no, I was not in danger at any moment. I am skilled with snakes since young (catching vipers in Romanian mountains when I was 7 or 8). Moreover, these snakes are not venomous, and are not dangerous if not angry or threaten. This one didn't care about me, he was thinking "freaking silly farang, won't let me live..." - in fact the snake was more in danger than me, in case a car would pop up during he was trying to cross the street. I saw it on the other side of the road, it was with his head about a meter on the street trying to cross, I thought "wow! this is huuugeee", I did not have the 360 camera with me (yeah, why do you need a camera in the night, you silly?), and I drove about 30-50 meters more, before deciding to turn back to film it with the phone. My mind was also to try stopping any car, to let the snake cross, but no car showed up. Meantime he crossed the most of the street, and the rest is on video. It was not so big as I thought it was, but yet, it is one of the largest I have seen in the wild, maybe the forth or the fifth in size.

The side of the road looks wrong, but remember, here we drive on the left side, so when I turned back, I was on the wrong side of the road myself (facing the traffic front-side).

He could not hear me, because snakes don't have ears like us, they hear sounds by listening to the vibrations through the soil, keeping their head on the soil. They can hear your foot steps from hundreds of meters away even if you walk like a cat, they can estimate your size and they will generally hide from you, if they can not swallow you. They are ambush predators, and will not chase you, unless you threaten, or anger them in some way, bothering them too much.

Here I was riding an electric unicycle, and these devices don't make any sound which can be heard by snakes (or people, by the way, however cats and small dogs can hear EUCs from distance, as they can hear some high pitch or ultrasound frequencies the motor makes), and unicycles don't make foot steps :D (i.e earth vibrations), that is why, for example, in some parts of the world people may use bicycles when they go catching snakes (true!). You could see the snake "jumping" a bit when I dropped my wheel, albeit it didn't took him totally by surprise, he was already somehow bothered by my lights.
