The cape buffalo is a large African mammal that can weigh up to a ton and stand up to six feet tall. They are known for their strength and agility, and for their ability to charge quickly and unexpectedly. Because of this, hunters must be aware of their surroundings and have their weapon ready for a quick shot when the opportunity presents.
The Kalahari Desert is a vast expanse of land stretching across much of southern Africa. It is a unique and unforgiving environment, yet one that has provided a home for many species of animals and plants, as well as providing a livelihood for the people who live there.
The Kalahari is known for its extreme heat and aridness. Temperatures can soar as high as 40 degrees Celsius during the day and drop to freezing at night. The landscape is mostly flat and featureless, punctuated by the occasional sand dune. Despite the harsh conditions, there are a number of hardy species that have adapted to this environment, such as the Cape Buffalo.
