I think the reason you teach so well is that you acknowledge when things are difficult but make it seem realistic that you can overcome the difficulty by improving. I’ve had experiences of instructors acting like everything should be self explanatory and intuitive. This is a breath of fresh air! Thank you!
  • My driving instructor had a foolproof method for parallel parking - nearly 30 years ago now - its simplicity blew my mind at the time and I’ve never forgotten it. Your video reminds me of that old lesson so much. Pull up parallel to the front car, making sure the back of both cars are perfectly aligned. Turn the wheel and reverse until your near-side wing mirror passes the back of the other car. The second your wing mirror passes, you turn your wheel fully in the other direction. You’ll end up nicely aligned to the kerb. Those two little tips: aligning the backs of the cars and then waiting for the wing mirror to pass, have served me well since then. Parallel parking is absolutely my favourite manoeuvre. Thank you so much for your wonderful videos, I always love them and learn so much.

My driving test is tomorrow. And I’m so nervous. When I drive I’m very confident but I’m getting really nervous now. And so I’m watching loads of videos to hopefully lower my nerves. EDIT: I PASSED WITH ONLY TWO MINORS!!!

I passed my test 9 years ago, and only just got my first car today!! So glad I watched this video before getting into the car today - just nailed my first parallel park in 9 years, so thank you for making this video!

Just a quick one to Thank you, Richard. I passed my UK test last week. I got the parallel park on my test and used your method with 'dry steering' and didn't get even a minor for it. I passed by watching your videos over and over 😂 and over. Plus private driving lessons. So thank you again so much.

I had been been watching your videos before my test. Your videos especially this one are really helpful! Before watching your videos I sucked at parallel parking cause I didn't know what reference points I could look to. Your explanation is really clear! I passed my test today with a pretty good parallel parking. So thank you very much!
