30:31 I was blown away by the boy's portrait - 10 yrs old and he produces a lifelike and beautiful portrait. Imo the works by the children deserved much more recognition
  • @BlueyKind
I saw a friend in the background whom I haven't seen in 40 years!
  • The winning portrait was really good, and I liked his submission too. But I really loved Nitin Ganatra's submission and celebrity portrait!! Amazing!
  • @margs5758
Laurence' work is absolutely amazing. And one if c the students pencil drawing is beyond her years. Such talent.
  • @katella
The mural is a real work of art! Absolutely love it!
  • @elliegreen872
The eyes on Laurence’s painting were beautiful, it was powerful and contemplative. I think the judges just didn’t want him to win, so picked the next best.

I think Laurence's more traditional portrait is technically the best and I certainly liked it the best. The others were illustrations with little colour sense or accurate likeness (apart from Nitin whose illustration was very good). I guess it depends very much on the of the criteria applied by the judges.
  • I loved the small painting by Anita! Cant believe Lee Francis won...should have been Lawrence or Anita
  • @kissy51
Thanks for these! Please would you share all Portrait Artist of the Year too!
  • @seanfaherty
I did not expect to prefer Toya's painting. Not technically brilliant but the overall effect is striking. Just like the artist herself
  • @katella
I wonder why the woman with the gold leaf drew her sitter with blonde hair when she has gorgeous dark hair? I don't understand.
  • @galeocean4182
as usual, I don't agree with the winner. They never get it right. LOL🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
  • Seeing those, especially a couple has made me think I can draw after all. Even the winner was off with the eyes. Laurence’s face wasn’t bad but the hands…OMG & all his side glances at the camera. I have seen more humble peacocks!

Did I miss something there are usually 3 painters for each guest.. what happened to the others I didn't hear any mention of people dropping out...congratulations to all of the younger artists.. brilliant work and the wall looked great too.. cheers from Western Australia * OK I went back to the start and yes there were only 6..my bad.
