The Gospel of Mark teaches us to be humble as servants of God. Jesus specifically said to His disciples that whoever wants to be first must be last and a servant of all, and this shows us a great example of humility. When we do service in the name of God, we must not think of it as something that we'll do to make ourselves shine, for our ultimate mission is to let the world know and see His light. We won't be able to spread His word and His light if we put ourselves first. More people need to know His word, and we are called to take care of others before ourselves as part of our Christian faith.
