my tuning to Drop D is always ends with playing Porcupine Tree - Blackest Eyes intro:D
  • @ethantapp5370
Your Tool tutorials really got me introduced to drop tunings. I appreciate your videos so much man. I play in drop A# now for my own stuff, but I've been recently been back to drop D with Fear Inoculum dropping. Keep up the great work!

The way you described going from pentatonic to frigian at the end made SO much sense to me man. If the rest of your lessons make half that much sense I'm a lifetime watcher

I love the comment " I don't know guys"just making stuff here," is brilliant for the beginner out there. Amazing Love it.
  • Yet again you have blown me away. I am past the beginning stage now but this was all EXACTLY what I needed to get out of the sonic rut I was in. Thank you Greg!!!!!
  • @Neishy4AGTE
I've been getting the Tool song tutorials in my recommended from years ago for the last few weeks, good to see this guy is still going strong.
  • ive been playing guitar off/on since like 2006, and he said something that made so much since. He basically said give yourself a "canvas" to play on, and wow dude yeah I love how he said that.. goes to show you are never too good to learn something!!
  • @srikarvar
This guy makes the guitar less intimidating honestly! such simple ideas which lead you to some badass riffs!
  • @willie6809
Thank you for your continued efforts on putting out a great product. Your knowledge and delivery is unmatched especially in the Tool department. Super stoked that you are working through the new album. Once again thank you very much. Cheers BWS Clovis Ca

I hope I won't sound to be exaggerating, but the bonus tip is pretty much the most "wow" tip for beginners I've ever heard on YT in many years. Many people who pick up the guitar learn to only tune with a tuner, but the oscillation of the two notes is something simple yet so fundamental to understand how sounds work. Big props!

I have no idea how to play guitar, yet still watch your videos once they come out. You're awesome!
  • Man I love your video's! They're straight to the point and easy to understand, you do well with not overcomplicating thing's it's great. You deserve a lot more subs brother! Keep up the good work🤘
  • @Gee-no
Thanks for this! Really. As a life long standard player (E or D standard) I was having a little trouble getting away from blues scale one finger riffs (fun as shit of course) but your ideas have opened my eyes. I like the higher string triads while chugging on the low string (I'm playing drop C, btw, trying to transpose from drop D as you play on screen). You truly gave me some new ideas. Thank you very much, sir 🤘🏻👍🏻

I really liked that you had a spectrum of tips and ideas.
  • @skumpi74
Best guitar teacher on YouTube. Extremely knowledgeable, skilled player, and clear instruction. *** Keep it up, AOC!
  • @diabeticmonkey
Another tip for beginners. When you tune to drop D, tune the lowest string just slightly flat. That will compensate for the difference in tension and keep you in tune a bit better
  • @ghoulbeansz
4:23 I thought you were going to start playing smoke on the water xD
  • @gimphandjeff
These are especially great on acoustic! Thanks for the video!
