Salem looks like she may be pregnant. If you can, please borrow a cat carrier or trap and take her to a vet to see if she is microchipped and to get an exam in case she is pregnant.

I worked in kitty rescue so if you think kitty will go in a carrier, you can take her to any pet smart, they have chip readers. If no tag and no chip, you can ask neighbors or apartment management. Lots of animals get dumped at apartments. Thank you for caring for her. Love how the porch is looking. I have to do the same. Our balconies are right up against each other.

Do not be surprised when you walk out one day and find a MAMA Salem with kittens in her new home! She looks well cared for and pretty pregnant! BTW...Patio looks fabulous!!!

I used to be very allergic to cats as a child, but I was determined to have a cat when I grew up so kept petting any cat that came my way. Now, as an adult, I am only allergic to Persian breed. I had adopted a Siamese/ Persian kitten and I got a bad reaction. We had to rehome Tosca and it broke my heart. He went to the lady who ran a cat rescue and Tosca became an important daddy figure to new kittens and since he was such a social boy he helped new rescues adapt. She was so happy he was such a big help. That made me feel so much better that he was enjoying his new home and the important job he was doing.

Please post on your apartment and local chat boards and put up some signs around to see if Salem has an owner. She also should go to the vet to check for a microchip and check if she is pregnant, like other comments mentioned. If no one responds to your enquiries and she doesn't have a microchip, I'd have her spayed, there are low cost clinics, before she gets pregnant, if she's not already, and adopt her or find her a home. Outdoor cats only live around 2-5 years, their life expectancy is dramatically cut short, and kittens born outside suffer and many die. Thank you for caring about Salem! You're a good person. The cat house is adorable.

You could always buy a collar for Salem and attach a note to the collar asking if she belongs to anyone! That way you at least know she has a home. Loved your DIY’s like always! 💕

I loved the screen. You can get a flat peace of carpet at dollar tree for Salem’s house. It will just cover the wood bottom .
