  • Garrett, you're a genuine inspiration to both young and old. It's an incredibly brave and challenging thing you're doing and I wish you all the best for the remainder of your adventure.

Hope this helps towards the generator and veggies. I’m enjoying your adventure. 🩷

The best sailing channel I've found. This is actual "reality television" because you keep it real. Thanks for letting us adventure alongside you.
  • @TOMVUTHEPIMP
So refreshing to see actual sailing channels. Everyone starting channels trying to make them all theatrical.

Garrett, I am certainly enjoying reliving my 1977-79 singlehanded voyage through you. I'm an old man now, can no longer do what you are doing (and am glad to have missed the rogue wave that surprised you!). Aitutaki was one of my very favorite anchorages for the reasons you mention: the people speak English, are extraordinarily friendly, food was inexpensive, and if you dive around the outside reefs, the diving is spectacular! There are a couple of old sunken whaling ships on the south side of the perimeter reef (nothing really left now) that struck the reef during the mid 1800's and you will find some of the crewmembers buried in the church graveyard with interesting markers. Diving at the mouth of the entrance pass should reveal a lot of huge groupers (and some sharks) but make sure you go with someone in a dinghy to make sure you get back! I am wishing you fair winds on your trip to Tonga.

I got up and went to work this morning just as I have since 1987. I definitely chose the wrong path way back then. There is life and then there is LIFE. This young man understands what living should be about.
  • @TheSurfrer1
I like the drone perspective of you running aground. Can't believe you were able to multi task this while navigating a new harbor single handled. Good stuff, thanks.

Smashed by a rogue wave. "So lame". Garrett - master of the understatement!!
  • @Loganberry

You’re a total badass. How you manage to keep that thing afloat with the massive balls you’re carrying onboard is amazing

So glad you made it to Aitutaki, one of my favorite places. Quite awhile ago I was allowed on the supply ship at Raratonga for passage to Aitutaki. Had a great time on deck with all the locals. On board was a small sailboat with a glass bottom. Since the supply ship had to remain outside the reef the sailboat needed to be sailed into the lagoon and I was the only person able to do it. The locals were so kind to me for that. They were practicing their dancing at night for a major competition. So I got to learn real Polynesian dancing. At night huge numbers of red crabs would come out on the roads. At the far end of the island there is an archeological site where cannibalism was once practiced. Very eerie. Vincent

Garret, watching your videos made me feel like you are my buddy and I am checking with you from time to time whenever you share a video. About your acnes. Yes, it’s good that you are following a strict diet but I think your situation requires external applications as well. Try to pick up some face washes/creams for acne-prone skin. They will speed up the healing process. I hope in the next video your generator problem will be solved. I am happy to see you have even more Patreon supporters now! Also, this was another great video! Stay safe!
